Hey NoDoubt, You got a new drifting place in Vegas? Tell us about drifting the 348 spyder. If this is true we should get a contingent of drivers to try out drifting. Vegas is only a few hor=ours from LA. You got someone there to give lessons? Our Ebrakes on ferraris generally suck. Did you do anything to improve them?
Hmmm... Yes, I've got a drift park in Vegas! We open up December 1, run 7 days per week, except when NASCAR and similar events tie up the entire Las Vegas Motor Speedway. I've got a lot of drift cars available to rent...and most Ferrari owners will need or want this option because... ...drifting a mid-engine vehicle that doesn't have power steering (348 guys, that's us) is a challenge. Surprisingly, our 348s have plenty of power to drift in the dry and in the wet, but you do end up fighting the car because 348s are set up to grip with coil-overs and negative camber. In contrast, my drift cars have engines (and hence: weight) up front...plus power steering. Combined with stick shifts and rear wheel drive, this all makes for *fun* drifting instead of work. Come on out and I'll make sure that you get some track time, either in your Ferraris or else in my rentals.
I would say it like this: The 348 is set up to accelerate out of corners. Drift cars are set up to burn rubber through corners without really accelerating.
Sure, but the "fighting" the car part comes in because you really have to yank around the steering wheel manually to combat the 348's great grip stance. Cars with power steering will not be so notice-able on that matter, but our 348s have no power steering.
I've been drifting a SmartCar today... It's snowing a heck of a lot here and it was virtually impossible to take corners in the deep snow without drifting - despite having traction control. I got some funny looks and occasional applause. I guess it probably was a pretty funny sight seeing a SmartCar drifting into view at the white-knuckle speed of nearly 3½ mph. All the best, Andrew.

Last night just before Midnight, Vegas got a rare rain. Naturally we turned on the lights and went night drifting! In Ferraris, Corvettes, and assorted Nismo monsters. Life is pretty darn good.
