nearly bought a Countach here on the Coast, they are gorgeous but a pig to drive around town with no visibility and the extremities are hard to guess, BUT I did love the car The car I was looking at was seized as part of a drug dealer's asset ( a real drug dealer, not you pretend dealers )
Apparently good ones that are set up right can be nice to drive in the right environment. Chugging around the suburbs in one wouldn't be a lot of fun unless you were a card carrying member of the latte set I love them, 30 years on they still make you stop and stare in amazement. So small, low, loud and aggressive. This one was sans the ugly wing and had that lovely patina that comes with carefully maintained originality. Just gorgeous; but priced OTT. They have aged so much better than the Testarossa IMO.
don't think so (see aviator) I love the testa but the countach takes the vote, both cars have huge road prescence Image Unavailable, Please Login
Cobar is a town in the middle of the desert, I doubt too many Ferraris have been there that photo of Meidecke and you going down the road side by side millimetres apart is a classic
Love that picture. I tried to get a high res version a couple of years agao but was unable to contact the photogrpher so I have to keep coming back here for a fix.
google Bill Forsyth. He is a commercial photographer, shouldn't be too hard to find. That photo is one of his highest sellers. I have copies in a variety of sizes.
In a previous life I did some mining & exploration work based from Cobar.. the bright sparks used water from mine pit on the grass on the tees at the golf course, and, being highly mineralised, promptly killed whatever green was on the "green" lol.. yeah it's a great red dirt course if you like that kind of thing!
Dirt road? No thanks! You can get away with it in a modern car where the complete underbody is enclosed. Anything pre 360 and you will be cleaning forever to try and get it up to scratch.
That red dirt stains everything!! You wouldnt catch me driving any of my cars on the red dirt. Have driven work utes on it though. Can always wash the big stuff off. After a while, the red dirt stains everything on the car and you will never be able to get it off.
no dirt orads through the town, this COBAR sign was at the entrance to the town and just looked like a good photo op here is the road leading into the town and afew of the town itself, I did dodge the red dirt creeping across the road Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
Tried twice now, 6 months or so apart. Both times I located a differnt email address and both times that email address bounced back not available. Shame.
