If you look very, very closely, you'll see a bumper sticker on the back of the 458 to that effect.

OK, here's some thoughts...

The 458 feels weightless after the Lambo. Performance is quicker off the line than the LP640 which bogs and is hampered by slow gearchanges. Driving the Ferrari is like riding a dirt bike - it feels light and zingy. I can't get enough of it. Around town, the auto mode is brilliant, the ride is smooth, the sound is great if you want it (Race mode cuts in the noise, Sport turns it off), the driving position is perfect - even the front lift is 3X faster than the Lambo's. The button indicators are excellent now I'm used to them and indicator stalks on my other cars feel dumb! The cabin is a good place to be - a weak point on Lambos.

Out of town, the car has so much power you never need to use it all. I don't think I've been over 8,000rpm and that only once. It has plenty of mid range shove. The LP640 is slower - at least at normal speeds. On a winding road (and Adelaide has a few of these ), the Ferrari is a revelation, flicking from corner to corner with no effort. The Lambo is heavy and much harder work.

The Porsche feels somewhere between the two with heavier controls than the Ferrari and a more solid feel on the road, but much more athletic than the LP640. The Turbo S seems even quicker off the line than the 458 with huge early acceleration. Being narrower, it is also easier to place on the road. I'd still take the Porsche over the Ferrari for a trip to Melbourne because it has more comfy seats, cruise control and more total luggage space. It is a better daily car, not because it is easier to drive but because it is more anonymous and a little easier to park.

I've had an oil change which passed without incident, and had the seat adjusted and that is all. They will also look after the Fiat but nothing has been needed there yet. So far the service has been great.

OK, it's time to park it in the garage for the rest of the year. I've done nearly 4,000 km since I picked it up. There goes the resale value.

It met up with a 599 today - not the best day for a drive, to be honest. Great fun all the same.

I did 30,000 km's in 24 months in my Granturismo S, lets see if you can beat that
Thats about 20,000 km's more than average for them I am told.
It doesn't do much for the resale value of course. The extra km's on mine cost an extra 15% but I reckon it's value for money.
