    ...I have to say...

I feel like a kid before Christmas morning.

The FOG Holiday Party is mere moments away....4RE, Vraiment and RSQP did such a fine job last year....I have heard that this years bash will set new precedent.

Fellow FOG'sters...I am bringing my Fire Fighting Suit, Scott Air Pack, and asbestos underware...

    ready FOR THE ROAST !

BRRRRING IT boys...I am ready to laugh at myself and maybe a few observations by FOG management of this thing we have become...a band of brothers and sisters sharing the passion of Maranello.

Can't wait to see it all...! :)

Speaking of "roasts," too bad we aren't the Veyron Owners Group. We'd have a field day with this guy taking a swim in a salt water lake in Texas.... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4NJmB1F2mdE
Reminds me of the line, "So, who's the U-boat commander?" We can laugh because this wasn't because the driver had a heart attack or something. The original story he gave was that he was distracted by a large pelican and/or dropped his cell phone and lost control.

Perhaps the mysterious "Dietrich" was in the driver's seat. Always get the guy's last name before letting him drive your Enzo/Veyron...

I'm am thrilled to announce that Brian Crall has finished his magic and my 328 is up and running once again. It's actually been running for a couple weeks, but we were waiting for the upholsterer to finish putting the headliner in the new lid.

For those who may not remember, I participated in the FOG day at Infineon (and I'm still smiling), but the car conked out on turn 7 towards the end of the day. I had it towed straight to Brian. There were many opinions about what caused the problem, and most were really dire. The consensus was that my timing belt broke and I'd need a new engine.

Well, I'm happy to report that it wasn't anywhere near that bad. A tube and air-thingy connecter melted, which in turn melted an air-regulator thingy, which then melted a wiring harness (Rifledriver, feel free to jump in here and make this sound more intelligent).

How fitting is it that when I'm picking up the car today, my savior Andrew was there picking up his 355 (why on Earth did I want to call you Steven?! Sorry buddy! I claim temporary insanity at the joy of both seeing your chariot and picking up mine).

Anyway, here are some picks of the fried parts and of the inside of my busted lid. One final note - the Porsche driver who did the damage paid for it IN FULL as soon as he got the bill. Whatever else you might feel about Porsche drivers, this guy is a champ in my book.

For those who will ask, my repair bill was $1500. The lid repair was $4000.

    ...she's back home !

And what a relief that it wasn't bent valves and piston crown impingement!

And well why shouldn't he?...He was a Porsche driver at A TRACK DAY...separates him from most Porsche drivers right there !

    Happy for you drchako.

DrC, it was a pleasant surprise to see you, your wife and kids at Brian's on Saturday when picking up my car. Congratulations on getting your ride back. It is great that she only had a melt down and nothing terminal. It turns out my alternator just needed a little tweaking by Brian's magic hands. Nothing serious and since I have been driving it so much, it was time for an oil change.

It feels like forever since I have had my car, you must feel the same way. It has been almost a year since I got her and I still get excited at the sight of her.... and then to have the privilege of driving such a wonderful automobile. I can't wait for the next FOG drive!

LOL! The sail panel intake on the GT4 is sublime..... love the minimalist approach.

But most days I worship at the alter of Ermanno Cressoni (designer of the Alfa Milano). I used to think that car was a bear to wash, but having washed the 458, it sets a new benchmark. ;)

I still see that shape in my dreams... I think it was the most beautifully executed design feature of the GT4. I do miss it!

Ponch... Don't let Italiani get under your skin. The Golden Goose or (GT4) has an affect on it's followers that is often misunderstood.
