PS: My nephew interviewed him once and said MS was a very nice guy.

 

I would love to hear some stories about MS.

I have heard he LOVED the Harley V-Rod and gave numerous V-Rods away to people as presents. I also heard a story that he was photographed after a race smoking a cigar, and he politely asked the photographer not to use the picture and that he would pose for another one, because he did not want kids that look up to him to think smoking was cool.

 

Good idea; it's the holidays. I'll lay off Alonso as well...

 

I heard Bob Varsha tell a story that Schu had 16 Harleys stashed around the world for him and his friends to ride, whenever they were in the areas. How cool is that???

 

I once met the guy who rented him a Harley he drove to the USGP (no not all the way) from Vegas. I can tell you more once I'm at a PC again

 

Ever heard the story of WWI and the troops facing each other at Xmas? For one night the battle stopped.

 

Haha! Yes; great analogy....

 

There is a great movie about it. Tells you more about the Xmas spirit than the usual Hallmark films

 

I've got a load of photos of him and the rest of the team celebrating in Japan 2000 with lots of red wigs, cigars, shaving, karaoke, and beer fights! They were taken by one of the mechanics and were not widely distributed at the time, but I can't see the harm in them being seen now. If someone wants to post them here let me know an email address and I'll send them to you.

 

I have also heard he is a super nice fellow and is very personable, but in his early youth he describes himself as a terror. Making he's making up for it.

Schu (and several other Germans for that matter) goes to Zion to rock climb and camp. He says no one recognises him there. Awesome

Hopefully he can compete for wins this season as it would be fantastic to see him once again on the top rung of the podium.

 

Yeap. It's no secret that the Merc wasn't built around his taste. It was built for Button, and with capital coming in from Merc at such a late stage back in 2009, there's only so much MS can do.

Having said that, 2011 will be a make or break for MS. He needs to up his game for 2011, no doubt. If he scores another 2010, then I'll believe Andreas.

 

Even if MB gave Brawn the go ahead (or whatever transpired) to build whatever sort of car he wants for his current driver line-up, there was no way in the physical universe we occupy that it could have been done that quickly.

 

MS and his friends/body guards made reservations for Harleys to drive them from Las Vegas towards Indy (but not all the way). The owner of the rental shop insisted to see valid driver's license from all participants. At first the organizer was reluctant to give MS' license but eventually did. He had to spell out the name over the phone and the clerk in the office was repeating it: S-C-H-U-M-A-C-H...by now a light went up in the owner's head and he started laughing realizing who his mistery client was.

Eventually MS and his entourage arrived and they took a lot of pics with him in the store and around it. The rest went well, they drove without an incident to their destination where the bikes were picked up and the guys travelled on to the US GP.

 

Ya see? How badass is that?!?!?

 

I actually miss the Schumacher days. Don't get me wrong, I love the competitive nature of the last season but I loved seeing his obvious passion and excitement for driving. He was and is an inspiration.
