I may replace my 2010 Rosso Corsa with a 2011. Thinking of an exterior two tone option from the factory such as Grigio Silverstone/Roof Argento Nurburgring or Grigio Silvertsone/Roof Grigio Titanio or Blu Pozzi/Roof Grigio Titanio. Configurator is not particularly accurate and I am sure that hardly any have been delivered with these combinations but I would welcome views and if possible photos
In the past just in general terms two tone color combinations have the lighter color on the roof and the darker color on the lower body. The black roof with a red or yellow body sort of goes against that idea. Also that new black over Grigio Medio 458 is another effective example going against the trend. The two tone combinations are a very personal choice as they are not to everyone's taste. One thing I would avoid is mixing metallic paint for the roof with non-metallic for the body such as the Grigio Titanio over Blu Pozzi combination that you mention. The 458 design does seem to lend itself to those two tone color combinations. Personally one element that seems less effective is continuing the roof color beyond the rear window and onto the rear engine panel. Non-metallic silver roof over Blu Pozzi would be an interesting choice with silver calipers behind the gray painted sport wheels and perhaps even a lighter gray for the interior. Something more conservative would be a dark blue for the interior including dash and steering wheel but with carbon accents. As for silverstone it seemed to be on every second car when it first appeared... CH
I love the bicolor option for the 458. The design of the car really works with the two-tone option. I'm especially fond of the Bianco Avus white exterior with the black roof option. Not sure whay Ferrari charges $12k though. I'd imagine alot more customers woudl select the bicolore option if it were more reasonable, say $5K. Regardless, I really do like the look.
I think the top of the car should be the darker color. A black car with a red roof would be completely stupid. However, a red car with a black roof would be cool. So I think in general the top is darker.
How about Giallo Triplo Strato with a Matte Black roof or Nero Daytona roof? Maybe... Bianco Fuji with Matte black roof?
The car in question has that triple yellow with a gloss black roof and a lot of carbon accents, door handles, fuel filler cap. Very striking colour combination, not sure I would be that brave!
Id say blue pozzi with nero roof... or even a silver/grey roof... id stay away from the matte finish on the roof... too trendy for me... I feel like in a few years that matte thing will go away and it will be "one of those cars" however, a two tone car is always a bit eccentric... Also, the pearl yellow with the black roof is stunning. Im typically not a fan of yellow... but its unbelievable in person.

This combo is now my favorite. How I'd spec mine I'm pretty sure. Absolutely perfect. Photo found on Flickr Image Unavailable, Please Login
The Ferrari Owners site has a new configurator for the 458 which includes the bicolore option, carbon and special triple colors with lots of examples. Marketing these colors more aggressively I guess Ferrari has confidence that paint work can be done in country of delivery Still undecided, the spider will be specified within 12 months Merry Christmas to all !!
this is going to sound really stupid... but is that the ferrari.com website??? I have registered with them... but have never found this owners site... link? or address?
Anyone else think it makes the area around the rear wheels (hind quarters) look quite fat? Not sure I actually like the bicolor option now.
It is the ferrari.com site where you register as owner with the VIN of your F cars. You will get special e mails etc with links to new car features etc
