Is it possible that we could put together a track day at say Sandown or Calder, limited to 308's (GTB/GTS/GTSi/GT4). 246's and 328's. I would like to see 20 x 308/246/328's having a track day together. These models are all basically the same horsepower and speed. All models would have NO handicap on TYRES OR body changes (like a large front air dam) But NO engine or brake mod's allowed. Want to keep it fair. What do you think ?
great idea Gil but most of the 308s have been modified and some even came with the big front air dam a lot have had the HC pistons (if they will admit to it) and other "things: done
I'm amazed that you have that many Ferrari's at a track day that you have to organise another day for individual models!
I'm up for any track day Gil, but I will confess, my car does have the deep front spoiler, it came with it. And during the engine rebuild I had the high comp pistons installed as John mentioned above. Other than that, if I still qualify, put me down. I just looked at that invoice of my car delivery in the UK. 500 pound for air conditioning. What a bloody rip off, then again, it was probably adequate for the UK market.
There was a trackday (Maranello Motorsport / Events O'Neill) at Sandown today, thought you may have been there.
I'm flat out this month mate, but, please if you hear of any track days next year that I can enter please drop me a PM. I want to really learn my car and the safest place is on the track. Shuddup ewes two.
Yes, well we have days for Boxers only, Tests'a only and a special F40 day only for F40's and we get about 20 F40's.............ARE YOU NUTS I just thought that it would be fun to have a bunch of cars that were fairly evenly balanced from a point of horsepower and handling. Technically speaking a 308 with an engine mod is a "modified category car". But in the overall situation I guess bring them all along. What if I try to get the MASA club to allow us a section of their day for a 308/246/328 run, maybe during their lunch (it would be a Sandown
The official large front air dam was available on the quatro 308's as an option I believe. Before the quatro's there was no such thing as a front large air dam. I bought one for my 1979 308GTS from the factory and it's on the car. So what I was meaning was, I regard that as "NOT A MOD". And tryes, hosiers etc. etc. anything will do and is not a MOD. But seeing all you trend setters have low comp pistons and god knows what........ bring them all along and we can have a 308 day. In other words leave all your fancy 355 ch and 360's and 430's at home
