My name is Jeff I live in Ontario Canada just south of London, i'm 44 years old and my life can be described i guess as a car nut....more of a speed junkie! I worked at Ford Motor Company for 22 years. The current 'Mistress" as my wife calls her is my 1978 Ford Pinto.....yea i know.....i said Pinto! I design, build, service, and break parts all on my own and do not trust shops with my junk, i'm a hands on kind of guy. The Pinto is powered by a '95 roller block 351 Windsor with a 383ci stroker kit and two 58mm TO4E 60 trim turbos blowing through a CSU 750 carb. It is wicked FAST for a street car on pump gas, 450hp no boost and if i set the boost controller on "kill' i have enough turbo leg room for 800+hp. I have loved Ferrari's all my life.... guy can dream right....maybe someday i always said. That day has come, about a 15 months ago i was diagnosed with Esoghageal cancer with mets to the liver and now to my brain (brain tumor removed Monday November 29th) and i'm doing great so far. Pretty damn good considering they gave me less than a year to live!

I have decided to sell my Pinto and step out of the go fast in a straight line gang, buy a Ferrari and just cruise. Depending on my health, it may get tweeked along the way but we'll have to cross that bridge later. I'm looking at an injected 308 GTSI as a starter car, i'm not loaded with money and concouse correct doesn't mean anything to me in the grand plan.......look at my Pinto....not sure if there is any Pinto parts on it! Keep an eye for me this spring on the highways and wave...you won't miss me, i'll be grinnin like a 11 year old boy who just seen his first Lamborgini Countach in the early 1980's....... LIVE LOVE LAUGH Jeff

No probably just a bunch of Pinto haters. You know snob Ferrari owners. Your Pinto is sweet. I love custom work and hot rods. Your car is clean. If you always wanted a Ferrari I say get one right away. Sorry for your illness, but we all have some grief to deal with. Best of luck.

    Hello Jeff.

I just got my first Ferrari, and I opted for a 456 with a 12 cylinder instead of a sportier model with an 8.

They've depreciated like a rock, are very comfortable, quick and should be "interesting" to try to maintain for a DIY.

I hear what you're saying about going for it now: what the hell, we're all mortal, and if the reaper starts knocking it's time to start rocking.

I'm not a Pinto fan *shudder* but you did some quality work there: well done.

    Best of luck!
