Well i had my heart set on a 82 Countach that was for sale on Ebay with a motor knock for $ 51k, so i was trying to raise the money, So i advertised my SV for sale here locally and i have a few takers that we will see if they are serious, so i Email the seller to see if he still has it and it turns out the Countach was sold the second day of the auction. Crap , i have Coutach fever, I cannot get alot of money for my car because its a Salvage car, So i am looking for a fixer upper Countach , if anybody has any leads please let me know, I probably will keep my SV , it runs so good and its almost finished, I just cannot get the look of the Countach out of my head., They just blow my mind.

It is in your best financial interest, to buy an excellent car that is ready to go. Even if you can do almost all of the physical restoration work yourself, you will still have to buy some factory parts and send out a few components to specialty shops for repair.

With factory parts + the cost of your time, you will soon become financially upside down in the restoration project. A driver LP 400 and LP400S in need of restoration, may be a different story. If you perform a significant amount of restoration work, do not forget to figure the cost of your personal time, in the overall cost of the restoration project.

    agree.

Eric, no disrespect, but how are you going to rebuild a Countach engine on a budget?

$51k car =$125k when you are all said and done.

I hear you guys , its just i love a challenge, mostly everyone said do not to buy my SV, if i listened then i would not have been driving such a awesome car for the last 6 months, and that my friends is priceless, for a poor guy like who works in a boat yard to be driving a 98 SV, well that is rare, almost as rare as the car itself , Its just me, my car is a blast and needs minor body work now, When i saw the 100K mile Countach for $ 51K , thats when i thought about switching, but that car sold, , Maybe i should be happy with what i have, besides $58K for the Canada Countach is just a little bit too much money, I would offer $ 50K if i could , but the bids start at $ 58,000. I will wait + see what happens . One thing is for sure , I have Countach fever, if i have to sell whatever i have to get one , I will do it .

:), cool, good luck to you!

My buddy Joe Frazar allowed me to drive his 85 Countach many times, on extended drives. The car is great, the people and Law Enforcement here are not, so I would never be able to use nor justify spending that $$$ on a single car. Makes more sense in a Police State to have several cheap slow cars ( 308s, 911s, et al), than one fast one. At least here any way!

Eric, you are right. You did come along way. There was alot of people steering you away from the SV project (me being one) but you seemed to have pulled it off. I remember the thread perfectly but you never showed us pics of it done! Please show us some! :)

.................................I will really try to figure out how to post photos Vasco ,I understand why people would steer someone away from a car that needs work , also when you buy off Ebay you really never know what to expect, it could have been a disaster, its really a huge risk buying from ebay and a accident car makes the risk higher .

I believe that's a scam, why? because they have the EXACT same description about being stolen from a Dr. Garage etc. on a Ferrari they have for sale.

"This is a 1985 Lamborghini Countach 5000 (It is NOT a kit car, it's the real deal) that was stolen from a doctor's clinic parking garage. It was recovered by the owner's insurance company and is now being offered for sale in an as is condition. It has sustained damage to the front bumper, hood, windshield and rear wing. This is an EZ fixer. Buyer to receive a good marketable title."

"Here's a low mileage 1988 328GTS that was stolen from a hospital parking garage and then recovered by the insurance company. This is an insurance claim settlement vehicle. Mileage is 27,232. Known Defects: The engine will not start, it will be sold "AS IS" in a non-running condition. There is readily repairable damage to the rear body panel and the right front corner and suspension. We do not provide repair estimates."

Of course, I could be wrong and maybe these exotic car loving Dr.'s work in a very bad side of town for a hospital without security.. :)

What do you think about entering your CC # `s on a site like that , its not the $ 15 bucks i am worried about .

  24. I would go buy a nice cup of coffee & drop the rest of that $15 in a Salvation Army cup. You will feel better than wasting it on that site. The car has been talked about for 5 plus years.
