Hey guys, Got nailed over the bridge crossing from DE to NJ. DE cop wrote me two tickets, one for speeding in DE and then he wrote me a ticket for speeding in NJ. Both are over 30 mph for the 50 MPH speed limit on the bridge and I am seeking some advice or any names of good lawyers for DE or Salem County. Any help would greatly be appreciated. **Also posted in the Mid-Atlantic forum
He wrote you tickets in two different states? Was he a port authority officer or something along those lines? Sounds like an odd situation...
www.speedlaw.net He is based in NY, so see if he is familiar with the location. Casey has done great things for many. Carl
Casey helped me recently as well. He rocks. Do you have a New York license? If so there is no reciprocity between states. Meaning speeding tickets you get in any other state do not affect your driving record. Doesn't help much with the fine however.
I agree with Eric, that can't be right, he can't have jurisdiction across both states, give more details. He also can't ticket you twice for the same offense....
According to a friend, DE police have jurisdiction until the first toll, which is approximately 3 miles inland.
