I took these pix last summer and never got around to posting.... was in Kingston, WA
at a little festival, in the parking lot.

Very fun looking fake... would be a blast as a DD. Don't know anything about it, other
than I BELIEVE it was made by MotorCar Classics, Inc. At least I seem to recall seeing
that on the plaque on the dash (didn't take a closeup).

It was really funny - while I was taking pictures another guy walked up, saying things
like "Oh My Gawd.... if I owned it would never leave the garage!", "That's one valuable
car... do you think he has any idea???".... no amount of pointing out the fiberglass
body panels, gas shocks, AM/FM stereo, and all the other "wrong" things.

Anyway, I'm sure someone here will know for sure the history - I wonder if they're
still building these, and what the platform is...?

Looks to me like the front suspension is VW Beetle. I know there were a great many of these sold as kits, and utilized VW Beetle running gear.

    Shiny Side Up!

    Hi!

They are rear engined too, and with most of the mass (driver is were Beetle passenger should be) over the rear axle, the handling and front wheels grip is very close to inexistent.

    Regards.

I agree that one has a VW front-end meaning its likely a VW kit, garbage no matter how well built it is.

If you are going to get a Bugatti kit, take a look at these, not kits but reproductions.

I have personally sat and ridden in one of these, absolutely awesome...wish i could say driven but nope, just ridden.

oh and of course the manufacturers website http://www.pursang.co.nz/

It was a very cool car in person. Of course I know it's a bloody fake. Read the subject line.

    Jebus - tough room.

What he said. Worth the trip to Monterey to see and hear a real one.

Those damned car enthusiasts, always crashing the party... :(

Ignoring the anti kit car rants for a moment, this heap is not even a high quality attempt.

Hard to ignore the cheap Cal Custom steering wheel, the white trailer rims, the trailer fenders, cheap leaking shocks, the dangling spare wheel with a completely different type of rim, the Home Depot expanded metal grill, etc, etc, etc.

One of the guys in the barrack had one when I was stationed in Hawaii, it was a fun toy. No one was trying to claim it to be anything that it was not, just a great little toy.

I have one too (see avatar) I removed any emblems that said Bugatti and never cared if it "looked authentic" This car is truly one of the funnest cars to drive I have ever had. Winding though the back roads with an open top and no windshield is a blast.. And everyone waves and smiles when they see it... Lots of fun.. and cheap too..

I am proud to own one of these kits.... I already own a Porsche, Lancia Thema 8.32 (Ferrari powered), Subaru WRX, 1960s vintage formula car, and half a dozen other "toy" cars...

    FLAME AWAY! I don't give a _ _ _ _.

...this car is one of the most fun cars to own and enjoy regardless of price... however, since I am talking price....all this fun for about $7,500.00 or less.

C'mon... no one tries to pass one of these off as the real deal...heck the suspension up front gives it away at 1000 yards.
