In my experience the 365/400/412s are the least "impressive" to non-F-car people. Right behind those are the 308 GT4s. The 330 Americas are also often overlooked by those who don't understand cars, because the styling was simply so conservative.

Of course, that's just in visual terms. Put anyone in these cars and allow them to drive them, and the story changes.

I agree with the 365/44/412, but throw the Mondial in there as well.

Including your color question in this, I have a black Mondial. I'd say that 95% of people just don't even notice that it at all. Car people notice, but usually they're driving something nice as well. The guy in the minivan just doesn't see it.

Any of the 2+2s, although the oldest ones might get the "that's strange to see" second glance.

The 360s in silver/grey/blue really blend into the world.

Any of them in red/yellow will get anyone's attention.

You could go back to the 250 GTE, which almost no one would even pick out as being a Ferrari.

The 365/400/412 as others have said, possibly the Mondial, 456, 599, 612.

550 too.... Hate to say that but it's not one of their most dramatic or eye capturing designs. Rather bland if you ask me...

More strangers have talked to about my 2000 Nero 456M GTA than my 1998 Rosso Corsa 355GTS F1 at car shows or the gas station.

Any car that when a person sees it says "That's a Ferrari? You're kidding, right?"

Most of those are 2 plus 2's and sedans.

Even the Mondial would make someone say wow, that is a Ferrari isn't? I saw it in Scent of a Woman.

Some of that may have to do with approachability...

The answer is simple, pretty much any non-red color. For the person that doesn't know F-cars, one in other than red does not compute.

Pretty much, but my ex-328 is black metallic and people picked it out immediately. With the top off and windows down, you can hear the conversations in the cars near you when you're stopped at a light.

+1. I've had a silver, red then black 308/328s in same geographic location. No difference in attention level.

330gt or 250gte Unassuming and subtle. Beautiful cars overlooked by too many.

My late and lamented conservative silver '64 4HL 330 2+2 got 10x the attention that my current rosso corsa 308GTS does.

    Just facts.

I do believe that the conservative box style of the 400i may be the Ferrari to not make an impression on non-enthusiasts. But I have put thousands of miles on a Nero 612 that goes unnoticed by 99% of the masses as well. I have also found that a black 308 garners little attention. Having personal experience in a non-red Mondial I can say that it has a muted effect - but it does not go unnoticed. It sits very low and has that distinct proper supercar nose. I actually would prefer a less noticeable cars most days.
