Same here ;) very rare occasions to get the car out during winter but winter is a perfect time to do DIY things on the car and get it better for the next spring. And for sure, there is Fchat too ;)

Sorry man, I hear ya. Just bought my 360 3 weeks ago and have only 100 miles on her (not due to lack of opportunity). I can't even Leatherique the darn seats because of the cold! :)

    Thanks-

After I barely survived what you see in the picture- I moved alot of things a few years forward on the bucket list. Owning a Ferrari was near the top.

That used to be my 2008 Shelby GT500. Unfortunate hit and run sent me down the embankment and into a rollover. It was an amazing machine in a straight line, but marginal handling beyond that. It also lacked stability control, which in this case may have saved the car- and my broken neck.

Wow. Was that car originally a convertible or did they cut the roof to get you out? It looks like the windshield totally collapsed during the rollover... when did this happen?

Spring of last year. It was a convertible- fortunately the top was closed at the time and provided a little support. They had to cut the top off. I was also fortunate to have a volunteer fire fighter a few minutes behind me and a medivac helicopter nearby.

Part of the deal with my wife when I bought the new car is that I would not get the spider... who's going to argue with a wife that green lights a 430 :)

On the serious side- Rollover protection should be one of those safety items at least mainstream convertibles have. My 911 has it- so it can't add too much performance robbing weight.

As a side note- a few months after the accident I googled the VIN and found the salvage company that purchased the car. This is all that survived:

Geez. Great that you are ok. That is seriously scarey.

A 430 coupe instead of a spider is not a bad thing.

Correct- 2005 Elise. It's an amazing little car (VERY little)- really does feel like you are driving a go-cart. That was my pseudo Ferrari... before getting the real one.
