Indeed, the XJ220 is like the MC12. They both look like Rose Bowl Parade floats dedicated to the Porsche 917 Long-Tail.

Hey guys! Why quibble about size? This car is going to be unbelievable! Run don't walk to your nearest Lambo dealer and plunk down your $500k quickly or you may not get one. Wait, Roy Cats says that this car will probably sell for OVER sticker so make that check for $500K ++. And don't try to flip it because, according to Roy, Audi is going to have a program in place to make it difficult to do that. Special investigators will be going over every deal to make damm sure you don't resell the car and make $$$ on it. After all only Lamborghini and the Dealer are allowed to make $$$ off of you. Quick now because I heard a rumor that they are SOLD OUT! See, you waited too long. Could I interest in you in a Gallardo then?

Well lets add some "down to earth" facts to your "sarcastic" (IMO) comments..

It is true that Lamborghini has executed NEW rules that will make it very very difficult to purchase this car and "flip" it on the secondary market..THIS is not for the Factory on the Dealer to get make money...it is to protect the re-sale and the up front cost investment of the buyer of these cars..and in all honesty..of course I dont like it as it does take away from me, a second market car Dealer the chance to buy and "flip" a car..so for me it is not good..

BUT it is good for all buyers of the car AS WELL as it will shore up and IMO, increase the cost of current Murcies "used" on the market..it all trickes down..I do THINK the first cars, at least through August Sept 2011 WILL go for over sticker...the car has recieved a GREAT response and the "wanters" of this car far exceed the current allotment of available cars, at least through year 2011.

As far as run out and order the car..well you will have to wait to "officialy" place your order and money with a USA Dealer till approx mid January or so next year..yes I am sure their are many Dealers will take your "get in line" $50K now..but a ORDER to be placed is not happening right now.

The $500K price tag..close, but as yet not set in stone..my pretty accurate nfo places the base price on the car at approx $435K...and up from there with options..close but I dont think you will approch over 475k..unless you get a $30K Matt color option.

With maybe 4 or so allocations per USA Dealer for MY 2011..(100-110) total USA..yes the car will be in demand...and why not a little over MSRP..this is the free USA where we are not FORCED to buy a car..it will only be good for the buyers of these cars as WELL as the re-sale ofall current models of this variation on the market..

I also think the SV 670 cars, that are 22lbs lighter, a few inches shorter and only 20HP less then the new 700 car are an extreme bargin on the market right now..AND when these cars hit (the 700) will ONLY hold their value..they will not dump/tank..

Of course this is just IMO..we will have to wait and see.

When can we expect to see official pictures of the LP700-4?

As an aside, does anyone here know what the 'LP83X' is? Apparently there was a presentation in Lamborghini Miami earlier this week?

LP83X is the internal name of the Aventador I believe. We should see pictures of that in March, when it is debuted at Geneva.

in my opinion the AVENTADOR will be slightly longer than a Murcielago

in order to show differences between the entry-level baby Gallardo and the all new flagship

    that's it

that bugs me...Lambos should only get wider, never narrower.

I believe the Murci is wider than the road restrictors in a lot of European cities. D'oh!

so the assumption would be the new car will be able to fit through them.

Have been following all these Aventador/Jota threads since the beginning.
But I do not understand why there is not ONE actual picture of the car.
There are so many people who have seen it now at the dealer presentations.
Can't be that difficult to have a hidden camera...

I have heard a couple times they went through a metal detector before viewing the car and, while they were viewing the car, other people were viewing them.

It was the same for the Reventon, and the Reventon roadster, private showings weeks before the rest of us got to see the damn thing.

The big difference this time is that Lamborghini has had to be out testing with it. This leads to the photos, the photos lead to every magazine begging over and over and over to be granted access to the car, which leads to the barely cladded photos, which leads to the photoshops which I'm betting are pretty close.

Aside from having people there watching you, you have to sign a non-disclosure agreement basically giving Lamborghini the right to legally come after you if you leak out confidential information. Considering that the groups at each viewing are so small, slapping 5-8 folks in a legal battle isn't that hard to flush out the culprit.

All true. I was at the NYC unveiling of the car. No cameras, phones, etc,. allowed. Had to sign a confidentiality agreement. Went through metal detectors to enter the room. Small group allowed in. Stunning car.

The dealer priced it to me at $420k US. There was a us showing in miami. I did not go.
People who went were not allowed to take pictures. They did say it was stunning.

It looks like a jumbo Gallardo. VW sucks. They should stick to making the people's crap. The Italians should know better than to work under the Germans. The last time they did that was in WWII and we know how that turned out.

Just think, only $480,000 for another Murcielago looking Lamborghini that will wind up depreciating big time, no matter what the "Dealers" tell you. Wretched excess, IMO.

Could be worse. Could be an AMG Merc, with its value halved before the first scheduled service.

I have faith in Lamborghini....just NOT in Audi. I don't like it IMHO.

Where is Gandini when you need him?
