Finally bought the Peugeot 908 last night! Handles similar to how I described the Mazda Furai but has a better top speed... visibility sucks in the cockpit mode though! I beat the b-spec of "Like the Wind" with it, won a Toyota 7 race car and look forward to using it in the a-spec Historic Races.

Next step is to start collecting Ferraris! I'm still on the hunt for a Lotus Motorsport Elise if anyone can help me out.

I beat American Championship with a Race modified Z06 (plus some mods.).

The Indianapolis Race is 5 laps (50 sec per lap) and it pays 98.000 !!

I managed to beat the Historic A-spec races with the XJ13 on Deep Forest and beat Côte d'Azur with the Ferrari P4. On the B-Spec races I'm still working on Deep Forest, can only manage 2nd but Côte d'Azur can be beat with the P4.

I have a really good tune for the P4 on Côte d'Azur if anyones interested.

Ya I'm thinking it will take some time, too. :D Just realized how difficult that car is to handle after not using it on GT4 for a while. 20 lap races won't take too long I hope! I'm going to do the Indy 500 (200 laps...) possibly tonight...if I can stay awake for it that long!

Here's the things the new update (1.05) fixes:

    Seasonal Events
[Seasonal Events] have been added to the upper left side of the [GT Mode] - [GT Life] screen. From here you can participate in official online events from the Polyphony Digital team. In these events, all participants under the same regulations, and if you complete the event you will win rewards and experience. In Time Trials and Drift Trials, compete on the leader boards with players around the world.

    Online Dealership
An [Online Dealership] has been added to the left center of the screen. In here you will find popular and rare used cars. You might just come across that one car you've always been looking for, that you haven't been able to find in the used car dealership.

    Online Race Rewards and Experience
When you complete a race in the open lobby or my lounge, you will now gain rewards and experience points. Therefore if you are focused more on playing online, you'll still be able to gain rewards and levels that you need to progress in GT Life.

Driving Distance and Number of wins in Online Races
The driving distance and number of wins you achieve when you complete a race in Open lobby or My lounge will now affect your stats in Profile and the Garage. Here again the results from your online play will cumulate within GT Life

    Improved Rewards
The rewards for winning races in Both A-Spec and B-Spec in GT mode- GT Life have been increased for a limited time only. This applies until the end of January 2011. This is a great chance for those who were previously have difficulties getting ahead in the game, due to lack of funds for tuning and purchasing required cars.

    Race Information Display
Is now available in the Start-Quick Options. You can also see this in Race Display in Options.

    Save Data Backup
You can now copy and restore your save data. For details please refer to the in-game Manual

    Personal BGM (menu)
From [options]-[hardware]-[Audio], it is now possible to set the Personal BGM (menu). This can also be accessed from the Music Library within GT Mode.

    Car Name Change
The official name of the "Red Bull X1" has been changed to "Red Bull X2010"

    Integration within the website
THe main features within GT Mode - Community can now be accessed through the "Gran-Turismo.com Official Website.

    Important Note
We have made improvements to the Log within GT Mode - Community section,
in order to make its operation more stable. Please note that the information that was here before the update has been reset.

Some contents of the update will not be applied unless you sign into the Playstation Network when you play the game.

Can anyone confirm/test and see if it is possible to back up this game on one PS3 and restore it on another? Thanks.

I know you can back it up now but I don't know about restoring it on another PS3.

I've currently got 2 of them, one of them I won along with a 25th Anniversary Countach. I really like driving my LP400's. :)

Now the HUD can be turned off so now there isn't a flashing red number telling you want gear you should be in the next turn. Always found that annoying and unrealistic.

I've been wondering the same thing, mine is pushing two & half years without issues. I'd check the GTPlanet forums.

I just drove a couple laps around the Nurburgring in my GranTurismo S without the HUD on. Fantastic!! You really have to pay attention to the track because there isn't anything giving you clues on what to do (when to brake, what gear to be in, etc.).

Pretty cool setup! I'm excited to get home and finish the 2nd 100 laps of Indy 500, then update.

You can not copy files, but you can hook two PS3's up and tranfer the data... because my PS3 died and I bought a new one, and had to transfer the data. Just hooked the two up and let it transfer all day. worked great, but lost my photos, that was it!

The one thing is that you must use the same account, so your friends can't use your save etc.
