A spectacular GTO week

Two friends are both getting their GTO's this week, one is taking delivery of his car tomorrow and we will be unloading the other one out of the container. On Wednesday we are going to attempt to get 3 or 4 GTOs in one place and play some fantastic V12 music through the CBD....well thats the plan anyway.

Have been reading so much about the GTO on here and having seen 3 already I just know tomorrow and most of this week is going to very special. I await the feeling of being launched up the road by 661 bhp and of course that sound...

Tomorrow cant come soon enough!

Promise to take lots and lot of pics and perhaps a few vids!

As a side note back in 1995 as 15 year old I saw a picture of a 288 GTO in a magazine and that was the start of a GTO fascination, never did I ever think I may be able to experience a modern GTO!

 

What truly awesome day! Will post something more detailed later but seeing 2 GTO's, one being delivered, the other being off loaded out of the the container.

With some luck we could have 4 GTO's for casual run on Wed. Spoke to two of the owners, they are pretty keen to join Scuderia GTO.

 

A few hours have elapsed, time for me to put some thoughts down into cyberspace. Well I think for an enthusiast there can be few greater days than seeing two GTO's(well actually it was 3 but I couldnt photograph the third one).

As is tradition we had to wait for the container to arrive from the docks and because nobody was sure what car was in what container this was a bit of a lottery, added to the fact quite a few cars were due to arrive made this a somewhat interesting experience, thankfully there was another GTO being handed over so we had that to look over while we waited. Both these owners actually had their cars delivered at the factory but seeing them on home soil is a different matter entirely.

Eventually the container did arrive....the sound of that V12 as it took its first snort of African air was incredible, a harsh growl. Even at low revs this engine sounds incredible!

Everything on the car has turned out great, friend and I debated for a long time about the yellow brak calipers but I think they look great, different from the red thats so often seen. Interior is very much launch spec, apart from red stitching, and a red rev counter.

Tomorrow is delivery day.....and more pics will follow.
