Just installed 430 exaust on 360. WOW!!!

Hello everyone...I am the Ferrari tech here at Foreign Cars Italia. I just installed a 430 exaust on a 360, fairly simple install with a few minor mods to the tips and bracketry. WOW...sounds awsome, I think anyway. The sound is very similar to the 430 and I think we can all agree that they sound great out of the box! you can find the 430 systems on ebay for fairly cheap too Highly reccomended for those wanting something different! WARNING!!!! it is LOUD!!!! I love it!

What model exhaust system was installed? or was it the stock system? I recently installed an X-ost Maranello F430 Pista Race muffler system on my 2000 360. A friend of mine was selling his 430 and wanted to put the stock muffler back on. So we installed it on my 360 and my god is it loud! stock cats and its still loud. It is the race model muffler so I am not surprised. Have to get used to the sound not sure if I am going to keep it or not.

I would love to hear what that car you did sounded like.

 

Did you have to cut and weld the 430 tips or can you use 360 tips on the 430 muffler?

 

HAD TO CUT AND WELD TIPS TO FIT PROPERLY PLUS REMOVING THE GRATE AROUND THE OPENING DUE TO THE LARGER DIAMETER OF THE TIPS ON THE 430, BUT PERSONALLY I THINK IT LOOKS GOOD! 360 TIPS WOULD HAVE HAD TO HAVE BEEN EXTENDED, SO EITHER WAY YOUR LOOKING AT SOME FABRICATION!

What was the brand of the exhaust, just curious to see what other brands of the 430 model sound like on the 360?

I just looked at the 430 exhaust closer. The exhaust tips on the 430 system bolt to the cats so I guess that wouldn't work with the 360 tips. No wonder its loud, with the valves open I guess it would be the exhaust would not go through the muffler.

What did you do about the staggered exhaust tips did you add length to one of them also? or leave them stock? (it seems that it would look strange staggered that much on a 360)

 

we used the stock exaust from f430...

 

the stagger in my opinion looks like it was meant to be... not much to it really, just took some length off both sets of pipes bringing them in an up to get them centered into the opening of the bumper. at idle the tone is much louder than stock so you can imagine what it sounds like when the valves open....the owner of the car is a member here on f-chat...hopefully he will chime in and give everyone his opinion once he gets his ride back !!!

 

I did the same thing for mine (430 exhaust on 360) about 6 months ago. I do agree (biased here ), for the money and the sound - it is a very good choice.

 

The F430 and the CS exhaust are the same thing.

 

Tech4ferrari: Were you able to create a new grate to fill in some gaps or just left them all open? I am still trying to figure out how to do it on mine - that is why I am curious to know.

THE TIPS ON THE 430 ARE MUCH LARGER THAN 360 SO THERE REALLY IS NO NEED FOR GRATES IN MY OPINION...ESPECIALLY IF YOU GET THEM GOOD AND CENTER THE TIPS ALONE FILL THE HOLE NICE.

 

Alright everyone...drum roll...I am the owner of the 360 that just got the 430 exhaust and all I can say is WOW--just picked her up! Casey at Foreign Cars Italia in Greensboro, NC did an outstanding job and many thanks to him and the dealership!

The sound at idle is literally identical to the 430 and man does she scream when the valves are open!! I think for the money, one cannot beat this upgrade!! Found a full OEM system for sale on ebay and sent her up to the dealership for installation and the sound is amazing!

I will try over the Holidays to take a video for all to hear.

sounds great. you just did the exhaust and not straight pipes or cat removal or anything? How is loudness compared to capristo stage III and tubi? Looks great from the rear the size is perfect for the 360

 

I love the F1-ish sound of that yellow 360 with 430/CS exhaust !!! It's a screamer @
