Well I did it. I purchased my dream. I bought a 95 355 6 speed GTS. I have been searching for over 7 months and had actually reached agreements with several dealers to buy a car only to find that the car was misrepresented or I had been lied to. Several dealers basically told me where to go when I questioned to much. I hope my patience has paid off. The car I bought and am anxiously waiting for has a few more miles on it then I would have liked (36k) but it is the colors I wanted (red/tan) and it was very well documented. The PPI went well so I took the leap. I believe I paid a little bit too much but after reading everyones comments over the last few months I elected to go with as well a sorted out vehicle as I could find and afford.

I want to thank every one for thier comments and advice that you never even know you were giving. I followed copter johns tribulations as he attempted to sell his beatiful 348, thought hard about it when the price dropped but my heart was with a 355. I drooled after Robbies Yellow car but I have wanted the gated shifter since watching Magnum in my teen years. I studied every photo concerning Sandy's major. At one point I asked the group about Bryan at VIP motors in San Jose, I had one person comment that he was a true enthusiast that could be trusted, I appreciate that advise and so far my experience with VIP has been pretty good. I will let everyone know for sure once the car arrives.

I am looking forward to getting to know the car and having a deep meaningful relationship with a lifelong dream. Any suggestions on what to do once it arrives.

Thanks to all the contributors, I appreciate everything.

    Great choice on '95 2.7!
Mileage should be a non-issue at 36k. 15 year-old car, that's 2400mi per year or so. Barely 200 a month, so just enough to maybe keep the cylinder walls and bearings wet and the seals flexible. I think I would prefer more to less on that model.
Now, drive it like ya stole it!

    BTW, real Cobra?

    Well Done!

My car had 30K on it when I purchased it- and I think many here can agree that cars with reasonable miles and a continuous history of being DRIVEN rather than stored have less problems.

After two very finicky fcars my 355 has been absolutely reliable-

    Now drive it HARD...
