The new Forza magazine # 107 has an article on Gerhard Berger. I remember the Adelaide grand prix that he won and the way he used to break into the chicanes and accelerate all the way through them and out. All the other drivers were always going in too fast and then having to correct. He was so consistent, and seemed to be relaxed.
Anyway let me quote a section of the article:-
Forza Q: "Have you owned any Ferrari road cars? And did the factory give you one when you were a driver"
GB A:- "I remember, after Gilles Villeneuve, they stopped giving drivers road cars because they would just destroy them. But Enzo Ferrari changed his mind and he did give me a 512 BOXER. As far as my favorite, I would have to say that the F40 is my favorite Ferrari road car of all time"

what a legend (and Nicki Louda's favorite car as well)

A couple of photos of Me and my buddy at the Adelaide Grand prix My buddy getting into my F40 with his buddy Jean Alesi at eastern creek. Where GB drove my F40 most of the day (photo coutesy of 360C).

being the end of the year and xmas, and after reading the new Forza Mag........I couldn't help myself.
    Merry xmas all you guys

Hope you're enjoying your 458. Saw one at Zagami's the other day. Looked pretty cool. I like the exhaust and the enzo style rear end.

not as rooted as my 512 when I bought it from the p-previous owner.
F40 needed a new clutch after Berger.

And I am confused. I thought PAP had a new 458. Anyway I think he should have one.

I wouldn't pay any attention to Lauda's comments as he likes whatever he is paid to like at the time.
I have an article where he carries on about how much better the F50 is than the F40 !

I quite liked Lauda and respected the man's courage in coming back from his near death crash to just miss out on the WDC in Japan in the teeming rain but I hear you on the pay for comment status of the guy, his failed airline made him say anything for money

Right on the money. He must have been hard up, he even sold all his F1 trophies.

AJ did that a few years back for similar reasons I heard, saw AJ at the Make-a-wish function last year with his kids, he looked happy with the kids, suits some of the older gentlemen :)

Correct, he did sell all the trophies as a result of poor money management.

thats not correct, they were used as security for a loan and when it was defaulted on the trophies including his fathers wonderful stirling sliver trophies were sold by the lender not AJ.

If they were used as security for a loan and the security was called it's poor money management even though he didn't sell them directly.

Again, it's irrelevant whether he sold them or the lender sold them. The sale was the end result of poor money management.

From a lenders point of view its most relevant,as they sold the security by default rather then the client selling and paying out the debt.
Your the one who said he sold the trophies not I.
But yes poor money management for years, like his father Stan.
