What's with the open decklid? The engine appears to be running sans MAF, speed density perhaps?

Very interesting F355 though. The passenger seat looks comfy. ;)

Extremely interesting and very tastefully executed.

Dzus attachment plates midway back on both sides allows the wing to remain securely and accurately attached with quick access to the engine, just cut the rear lid in half. Looks like the same attachment method for the rear bumper. I was trying to plan out my new deck lid design on Thursday... I can see its time to pull the spare engine lids from the rafters and get a sawzal warmed up. I am going to run a dual element wing and will need some reinforcement to the mounting area due to the calculated forces... Imitation being the highest form of flattery.... This 355 design is brilliant, no need to recreate the wheel here, its only the first cut on a perfectly nice body panel that really hurts. Taking this a step further I may make that whole rear wing mount panel/ rear grill section removable as well, my engine/trans comes out the top on the IMSA car. Funny how one picture can solve a dozen design problems, thank you.

Motec, Efi or the likes, no need for a MAF restriction on a race car, just toggle between a few preset engine management programs... Plugzit's 358 has just that switch in the panel. Now with his big ging engine management I am sure he will have dozens of fuel and ign. curve settings.... "Qualifying", "Cheater", "Race", "Drive thru window"....

Geno, Your posting oughta light a fire under a few backsides, sure did for me. Thank You for that!

    Merry Christmas all

Yes, that is a Michelotto 355GT. There is supposed to be 2 of these in the USA. Production numbers are sketchy but from what I know they built a total of 8-12. One of these cars was destroyed in a pretty bad fire in Japan.

If in fact this was the same car it was listed on eBay and final auction was approx. $56k.

Then a few months later I thought I saw this same car in a FOA listing asking approx. $78k.

If this car actually sold for $56k, it was the bargain of the century.
The paint scheme works very nicely from the side.
Wing? Helms got a wing? Dayum, the price of racing just went up..

True that! I remember watching it on Ebay as I was considering adding it to the IMSA/358 fleet but I already had the "358.5" in production at the time... a boring little tale that you would have no interest in and is of no concern.

Wing? Some guys collect TI lug bolts, some are into pretty seats... Me, I do not have the class of the afore mentioned, but I do have a wing thing going on. Carbon Challenge wing, DSR slippery wings, Group C LM wings, F5000 wings, CanAm McLaren wings.... I'm long on wings (we all have our querks) and I cant fit anymore tire under the back end. Worry not Plugzit, nothing to see there, just cutesy stuff for show only.

Ok, so now I'm just studying the Schumi tape on "blocking". I'm depending on my 22/29 drop gears to get me into turn 1 first and let all the racing go on behind me. Otherwise it's gonna be a looooong day.

If you guys notice the black toneau cover on the passenger side in the first picture that's the james bond ejector seat panel when your checkout ride along instructor gives you cr@p you just push a button and he is gone.

Mystery? What is Dr. Frankenstein up to now?

Looking at the various photo's posted of that car.... Center Loc 6 spoke wheels per Michelotto 355 as Bruce pointed out to me. Seems to evolved into or from the 5 spoke Challenge wheels at some point. So many questions.....
