    1/2 pound+ of Godivas.

Mostly milk chocolate so moderately poisonous.

Google sez 1 oz per pound is LD50, 8 lb dog..~8 oz chocolate; toss up.

The good news is he threw up huge amounts of chocolate in a $1200 designer chair....

So, my dog may live or die.

Which of my 4 daughters left her candy out is to be determined.

Sick dog. Ruined chair. How was your Christmas?

    Bah Humbug.

could have been worse, ol' Harvey the Yakking Mutt could have puked on the Dino....or your newly purchased son-in-law...

and I'd probably puke too if I ate half a pound of chocolate.

I think it was Harvey's revenge for you putting that silly sweater on him.

our new week old , rescue dog " Lemon Drop " ate my Chritmas gift yesterday at 3 pm, A 6 ounce box of Godiva ( seems like the dogs enjoy the same brand ) We called ASPCA posion control, fed her 2 tea spoons of Hydrogen Peroxide w/peanut butter , she ate it all, and then threw up the entire amount within 2 minutes , she is fine today ! She was really energetic last night though . 10 pound 1/2 jack 1/2 doxie . We are trying to find a family to adopt her as we have 5 already , Enzo, Bentley, Lola, Mercedes & Tucker . Please keep me in mind if anyone knows of a family looking for a great chocolate conniseur ( sp ? ) http://www.allamericandachshundrescue.org/animals/detail?AnimalID=2949019

Uro and Lola should feel pretty lucky your dogs received the attention and care to remedy the situations ASAP! Go play Lotto or somethin'.

It frosts my a** whenever I read in the Fred Basset comic strip, the suggestion that chocolate is some sort of treat for "Fred" if he's seen begging for it or being chastised for swiping some pieces off of a table. The cartoonist, Alex Graham, is either senile or an idiot!

    Note to self.

Next time induce vomiting with hydrogen peroxide.

    Works like a charm.

    Doctor (vet) approved.

I had a black lab eat 2 lbs of M&Ms and a bag of candy canes.........twice on seperate occasions! Never got sick, didn't die, nothing.

This is how I would handle my current dog Buster if he tried that!

Call your vet now. If your dog is unconscious vet will hose down his throat w/ charcoal then suck the remains out.

My little grinch (16.5 years old) had an okay Christmas until I put her down at my parents' house for their much younger dog (1 year old) to chase around like a living toy. She was terrified and the younger dog was really pissed when I picked her back up.

I'm glad Harvey is okay. We had to put our 13 year old Dalmation down 2 weeks ago. Losing a pet sucks but losing a pet near Christmas really sucks.
