One of the few cars Charlie's had that hasn't been "stolen" and driven over a cliff. Glad to see it's in better hands.

 

I looked at his GTC in 2001 when it was for sale. I think he cut the top off and made it a convertible.

 

Michael is great but Diamond David Lee Roth has to take the prize on quotable quotes...

I think you're right, Garnet. IIRC Eddie was a big Lambo head and had a few countachs back in the day. I never heard he had a TR.

Sammy Hagar, of course, is a big wrenchhead too. Anyone old enough remember the black 512BBi he had in his "I Can't Drive 55" video? Besides me, that is.

I don't remember any engine noise backing track to Panama, but maybe I just missed it.

As far as Ferrari engine sounds in pop/rock songs, let's not forget Jamiroquai's' title track to "Traveling Without Moving." I think they used Jay Kay's 512TR to get that deep growl on the intro. I've heard people say it was a 355 but to my ears it seems too throaty for a 355.

Interesting that MA would say he sold 3 cars to buy this one...or not just buy a 575M... As far as I know he can buy a Veyron if he so desired. He's worth tens of millions.

Perhaps...but not that much difference between 550 and 575M if you are worth 10's of millions. Regardles, hope he enjoys it
