Okay, I'm not going to ever play Forza 3 after playing GT5 again! There are some things in GT5 that could be better, but the graphics, driving physics, sound, etc really make Forza's flaws stand out. The driving physics were really surprising. I guess when you get used to the floaty feel of F3 you don't notice it, but when you go from GT5 and it's much tighter feel back to F3 it's kind of crazy.

Forza 3 was/is a fun game, but I think GT5 is clearly a level ahead.

I've been concentrating more on B-Spec to build up some cash & it does have it's advantages, I won the Alfa Romeo 8C Competizione & Mazda Furai concept car last night.

That Mazda Furai is quite a car, you'll need it later once you reach Expert Series events.

I just reached level A:24 / B:23. Progress has definitely slowed even though I've been playing the game every day since I got it on the 24th of November. The new Bonus races have definitely helped with XP points.

I just bought Montoya's car. Won gold in B-spec last night, will try to do A-spec event today. Once I'm done, you can borrow it if you still need one.

Anyone have a German Touring race car I can borrow?

For the NASCAR bonus race, just turn the downforce all the way up, and set the gearbox 2 clicks down. I won it by 35 seconds with those settings.

Yeah... gearing, downforce, and having a 'mid-hot' driver in b-spec is the key. I like my cool driver the most, as it's the most consistent... but he almost never tries to make a pass!

I'm trying to hold off buying any cars until I absolutely need to. It will take a while to reach 20mm credits (the game's max) so I can spend all that on the Ferrari P4 or GT40 mk IV LOL

I started playing GT5 yesterday. I spent a few hours dealing with software issues
    - patch up GT5
    - patch up PS3
    - 2 Failed attempts at loading cars and tracks to HDD
    - game loaded up but got the message "Could not connect to server"
    - fiddled with the DNS settings and activated the PS3 for gaming (WTF??)
    - Reload the GT5 update and save cars to HDD .... phew!

    Finally started playing.

Am still in the early stages and will take my time to progress up the ladder.

    Early impressions:
    - decent graphics but nothing mindblowing
    - can't mod the brakes for some reason
    - some of the tuning options make no sense - e.g. you can get a low restriction catalytic converter for a E type Jag from the 60s ... huh??? :)
    - can't say I am too impressed with the engine sounds as yet. My E type sounded asthmatic even after an engine rebuild.

But overall I am having fun. :)

I've gotten within 3-4 seconds of winning the Fiat 500 one (came in second) with suspension and short geared trans but I just can't quite get there. Biggest thing I can recommend is to make sure you have ASC and Traction Control turned off as they will slow you down going through and coming out of the corners. It looks like I'm going to have to buy the full racing trans and tune it to an even lower top speed since I barely ned 6th gear as it is.

The closest I've finished in the Fiat 500 event is within .900 of a second. I've given up trying for gold.

I don't think there is much you can modify on the NASCARs. I think you can only add torsional braces, and that's it.

I won gold in B-spec last night with the Lexus, will attempt A-spec probably tonight. I'll try the Audi out. Thanks.

I'll send it over. I won Gold in both A and B-spec NASCAR series, however I cannot figure out how to win at Daytona. Let me know if you get it figured out. I can tell you for all other races, dial up max downforce, and adjust top end according to track. Also, in A-spec, make sure you turn on the TC after the first race, believe me, you will need it. I didn't realize that I had to do that 1st time out, and I was lighting up the back tires everywhere. Also, in A-spec, use the soft race tires.

Well, I picked up the Lexus IS F and was able to dominate the German Touring Car Championship. What a car!
