Has anybody done or have pictures of a 348 or 355 with the rear package tray and firewall done in leather? The later models apparently offer that and I'm wondering how it would look in mine.

Not quite sure what you are asking...

Here is what mine looks like. 93 SS. The tray itself and everything below is carpeted. In the photo, you can see where the leather ends if you look just to the (viewer's) left of the passenger seat.

Are you considering extending the leather all the way down to the floor? I haven't seen that in any other car. What color is your interior? If it's black, it would probably look fine. If it's a lighter color, then I think the contrast of the light leather with the dark carpeting is probably better.

Eric, Im about to start some interior work on my SS as well, did you do black or tan carpets in your car? I have tan/Tan, but am considering black floor carpets. I have the kevlar seats so the backs are black/tan. Do you have any other photos?

My carpets are dark brown. You can kind of see the color in this photo... look at the area behind the driver's seat. I have no idea if they originally came that way, or if they were dyed at some point.

As you can see, I don't have the CF seats -- a fact for which my brain is sad, but my butt is thankful. ;)

Ah, you have the 360 Challenge wheel, too...nice!

Plugz and ndpendant -- Where are you guys going to source your supplies for the interior resto? I've been looking around but haven't had much luck with finding stuff I like.

Noel at Trimline Upholstery (310 540-0469) in Redondo Beach has been successful in finding leather with a matching grain for me in the past. I'm still chewing on whether it'll look really good and be worth it yet.

I am likely going to go with ogden top and interiors in Berwyn, illinois. They have done some fantastic Fcar restorations and have also gotten Riddler award cars done here locally. The guys at the shop Ive talked to are nice so far, Ill have to see how things work out as we go along.

Thanks, guys, I'll have to check those out. I'm thinking about going overboard and just redoing the whole shebang, originality be damned. Then again, the original leather is in nice shape, save for the e brake surround and the strip that goes behind the seats. Upgrading the dash and doors would be cool, and I think new carpets will be a certainty. We'll see...I'll be following your progress with great interest!

Im also planning on "updating" a bit. Iv decided to fabricate similar floor panels in aluminum like the f430 Scuderia, and have them be removable to slip in regular floor mats if needed. I purchased an E brake cover and a center console surround that I am going to have wrapped in real carbon fiber to match the carbon center console and dash surrounds that are already carbon. I think going to a black technical fabric or short pile carpet with the carbon will look very very clean and sleek. I will retain all of the original parts in their original condition so I can replace them without any damage to the interior at all.
Have also thought about just replacing the door panels. Cant decide on the seats at this point, I may do it in stages and live with each step a little to see what I want to do. With the kevlar seats I dont know how many options I have, but the california seat style leather I think would look good as well as the originals.
