I was reminded of that guy and his webpage this past summer...

A Murcielago owner was at 80 on an interstate when the car went nutty on him wanting to spin. IIRC he managed to keep the car from going totally buck wild and hitting anything. When he finally stopped he found one of his rear aftermarket wheels with the center broken out and the hub just spinning in a ring of sheared off spokes. Never did find out why that wheel failed driving straight on the freeway...

Maybe there is a reason why Lamborghini tries to void the warranty when aftermarket wheels are used...

I just can't trust many wheel companies. The ones that do OEM supply for the auto makers are ok; OZ, Speedline, BBS and I'm cool with anything TUV certified for use in Germany too, like ADV1. But I don't trust these CoolWordForged or Immitatione Italiano Wordo wheel companies that are spreading like a virus...

Wow, he's still updating it too...

I do love how he takes photos of wrecked/burned Lambos and says the owners all emailed him with their "mysterious accident" stories, even when the causes for the wrecks is known. I also like the inclusion of the Gallardo GT3 race car wreck... again, with mysterious connotations...

The guy is a total wackjob...

My car has been added to the list also as unexplained mechanicle failure.

The failure was explained though and was not mechanicle, rather it was brain failure on the part of a mechanic and a joy ride.

Quick summation. cold tires-640HP- narrow road- someone elses car- over confidence = very F'ed up car

I agree with you 100% on him being a wackjob, an lying on the causes. Here are a few instances of what he considers "mysterious accidents", but can be explained VERY easily.....
The Green Murcielago obviously crashed due to going too fast for road conditions, which clearly be seen by looking at the picture. Driving 120 KPH (~75 MPH) in wet and visibly snowy roads in the cold is a recipe for disaster, and in no way is a "mysterious accident".
Similarly, the white LP560-4 was going too fast for road conditions. A 5 year old could tell you that driving 130 to 140 KPH (81 to ~87 MPH) on a wet road in cold weather, where the tires don't grip very well will not end well.

Regarding the Murcielago that burnt down in Brooklyn (Addendum of 10/29/2010), the fire started from the front of the car and is thought to be caused by an aftermarket sound system that was poorly installed. In no way was this incident caused by a fault in the car.

Bits of it yes - especially if you exclude the melodrama...

    From C&D...

"Ironically, for a car built in Italy, the Murciélago seems less suited to pinched Italian roads than any vehicle made — except for maybe Jay Leno’s tank rod. It’s a daunting challenge to make it look fast in pictures, so we asked Balboni, a man with more miles in Lamborghinis than anyone else alive, to steer for a few cornering shots. On the second run, the LP640 abruptly lost its footing in some sand, spun backward, and clonked a sign post. We stared, too shocked to speak, weep, or laugh at our rotten karma. Balboni got out and studied the mildly dimpled bumper and cracked taillight with an embarrassed frown. “Game over,” he said."
