Just reading the first part of the Octane's Countach number, trip to the factory.
Almoust could feel all the sounds and feelings; what the driver felt when he opened the thortlle, flip dog leg first to second and opened the loudpedal again...and then to third.... Fantastic. Absolutely superb story.

Auto insurance in Maine is cheaper than many other New England states. There is a sales tax and local registration tax there. However, once cars are registered there, re-registration, etc. can be handled via internet for subsequent years. Inspection stickers are closely monitored (by application and meeting safety standards). By contrast, New Hampshire has no sales tax and cars purchased with a New Hampshire address are tax free. No emissions testing in NH or ME. Obtaining inspection stickers in NH are easier. For these reasons, for years, folks living on the east coast in more "difficult" and scrutinizing states (e.g., NY,CT, MD) get their cars registered in ME or NH. Check out the photos in FORZA magazine among the more famous collectors living on the east coast and see the NH plates on the cars....Also, there is no auto insurance requirement on NH cars. Different advantages in both states depending on what you are looking for...

    Dear Administrator:

I have used FerrariChat for years using ID "anderson" and password "zygot!"

2-3 days ago I was dropped! I cannot post or read links. I sent a note asking for help but I have not heard from you as yet (I am probably blocked from getting your message!).

Finally, today I reregistered using ID "nanderson" and password "nzygot!" I completed the registration by clicking on the site given to me in my e-mail box. By all indications I would be set to go.

However, while I can log in using nanderson and nzygot! and it says "welcome nancerson" but I cannot post or read links. Nothing works; I am still dropped.

I do not understand why I was dropped and I do not know why I am prevented from registering with new IDs and passwords. I have done nothing to deserve being dropped.
I re-read the terms and conclude I have followed the terms in all respects.

I am willing to pay to subscribe, but I do not have permission to do so!!! I can't do anything.

Suggestions would be apprecated. THANK YOU.

Just finished reading the Octane Countach article. Valentino says the Countach he would take home is the 4 liter one.

You left out the part where he says the QV is the "best" one ;-)

  13. He remembered for a second that arch rival Wallace had been testing the Lp400's :).

Yep, no suprise that the QV "won" the test. THe four valves defenitely do alot to the engine drivebilty and seems the gearbox also was bit quicker which I didn't knew before. (That they changed it someway).

But it wasn't suprise that Valentino would take that LP400. It's super classic and super beatifull, and that is the begining of the history defenitely. :)

But man....the Countach looks stunning without the rear wing. :)

    this is interesting to me

sitting next to each other i have seen the visual difference between an S model next to a QV model

was there any change to the proportions of the body over the years, or was this strictly a ride height change?

i'm assuming that the same body buck remained in use, but not certain of it

Just finished reading the articles myself and thoroughly enjoyed them. 99% positive, makes you want to to go out an buy one, any vintage, OK either the LP400 or the QV.

Congrats to Keith Adams for putting more than words but colour, smell and sound to these articles.

Any article on these cars is positive & inspiring. But leaving out the LP400S, the benchmark Countach and heritage car for all wide-wheeled Supercars as we know them, is just inexcusable.

Classic & Sportscar's article fares no better with is lack of complete representation of the variants.

If I get a chance I will speak to the author of the classic and sports car artical and ask what the limitations were. I know they try to write as many of the end/begioning of year pieces in advance as they can due to lack of cars weather etc and plan/write I think 3 months editions at almost the same time.
The owner of EVO magazine Harr Metcalf has recently bought a QV which was used in the Octane piece. SAw the car at the Classic NEC show in Birmingham in novemeber and it needed a bit of cosmetic work. However his buying of the car will raise it's profile as he reports on its running every month. Sent an email to him offering advice but no reply! lol

    All the best for 2011

    Paul

Don't people who write articles do the same thing as people who write books, namely "research"? Wasn't there a cover story in Octane on Mr. Sackey's cars at the time?
Wouldn't research include contacting Mr. Sackey or at least reading your own magazine back issues? It's one thing to leave the LP400S out of the article, but it made matters worse to proclaim a huge cover banner of "Four Generations".
That being said, it's incredible to see the newstand this month with multiple Countach covers. Brings back fond memories of the 80's when the Countach dominated those same newstands!

Leaving the 400s out is fine with me.......means it'll still be the best kept secret.
