Let's start a thread to discuss and share pics of what is becoming my favorite of the superstars, the F50. A few pics from Mr Benny Caiola's F50 which is unfortunately coming for sale. http://barchetta.sl-album.studioline.net/Img.ashx?id=1443367&CX=1215&CY=810&exact=false&Type=.JPG" http://barchetta.sl-album.studioline.net/Img.ashx?id=1443369&CX=1215&CY=810&exact=false&Type=.JPG" http://barchetta.sl-album.studioline.net/Img.ashx?id=1443366&CX=1188&CY=809&exact=false&Type=.JPG" And some amazing F50 clips :
F50= one of the greatest of the great, would be amazing to have one in my garage. Now does anyone know how many F50s were ordered in factory white?
A few listed in uk, including 1 of 2 only special order by pininfarina converted to rhd ( I'm sure I read that somewhere). The yellow f50 is the one which has been seen in uk magazines with the plate H1 FSO or misspelled as Hi F50 ( I think). Link to cars http://www.pistonheads.com/sales/list.asp?p=1&s=213

All of these were taking on the same day at Road America during the Historic Races in '97. The owner of the black one was driving it around with his wife in shotgun and teenage son sitting between the two of them. The silver F50 was at the Ferraris on Oak Street in Chicago I think in '02. Sorry for the crappy quality. Were are these cars now??? I cant believe there were that many F50 at Road America!! thanks for sharing.
That inboard camera on the TG track is amazing. Thanks for sharing and thanks for taking your cars out!!!
Scott, 360C, has already posted the definitive threads on F50 ownership, what maintenance items need to be tended to, how to properly restore it, what accesories come with it, how to drive it, photo it, and more (I'm running out of breath here, <LOL). The only downfall is that some of those posts are in his region's section, not in the Supercar section. Perhaps a search on his username is sufficient. PS - he's also most approachable and responsive (many thanks again for answering my email questions) PPS - Phil Hughes and David Helms should also be included
EA & AA would njoy drivin one. BTW, I have a one-owner-from-new 2,800 mile (Im slightly guessing here as I dont have my notes with me here in Africa where I am on vacation with the family) in Calif with the Tubi system from headers back (!!). Immaculate. Not allowed to advertize it so youll have to contact me via e-mail if youd like mpore info. Im back January 6th.
Slightly off topic, Joe I assume you are in the Southern part of Africa, any plans to go and have a look at the Ferrari collection just outside Cape Town.
How was the paint of the black one compared to the red ones you've seen? Not in terms of "black looks better" just a quality of paint, and application question.
You assumed incorrectly. But I would love to come to your beautiful part of the world indeed and will do so soon - my sister is often there for business and extolls its virtues. And yes it would be a privelege to see that collection as I am in contact with the principals. Very best wishes to you & your family for 2011.
Same to you and your family. Let me know when you do come down to these parts, would be happy to introduce you to some local Ferraristi.
To radeem myself for moving thread off topic...F50 in South Africa. http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v59/Ferrari360/F501.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v59/Ferrari360/F50interior.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v59/Ferrari360/F50interior.jpg
No to down play this thread I love Ferrari's period All Ferrari's and the F50 is just amazing.......But I still to this day and I've been saying it for a long time when I get together with my cars friend's. I honestly beleive Enzo would have not signed off on the F50, and here's my main two reasons why. 288 GTO F40 Both have one thing in common that the F50 dosen't TWIN TURBO'S. I think if Enzo was alive when the f50 was in development I know he would have said Twin Turbo V12 with about 600hp. Keep in mind the F50 was built to celebrate the Ferrari's 50th Anniversary. Edit: And seeing that the Mclaren F1 was only 3 year into production why not celebrate with having the "world fastest production" car. Edit Again:And yes I know that having the fastest top speed car have never been Ferrari's goal
Did Enzo's F1 race cars at the time have turbos, such as the 1992 F92A F1 car from whence the F50 came?
It wasn't McLaren's goal either. Their achievement was just a byproduct of great design and engineering. I love the F50 - I wouldn't have changed a thing. >8^) ER
