Great city and food... while I don't condone the way whales are caught, I don't get what's so 'barbaric' about eating whale compared to baby sheep, cows, bunnies, ducklings etc?

Hunting species to extinction is the issue.

That's the only difference. Show that hunting will not endanger the animal, then you can go for it.

    Yep,I agree.
Last night there was a Billy Connely programme that depicted the Inuit shooting a seal for a feed, poor Billy got upset, mind you he did say that their are 5 million or more of this type of seal.
He said he understood why they did it but did not 'get' it.
He then gave the example that 'we' get our meat from the butcher, well hello 'our' meat was once a walking talking(mooing, baaaing etc)animal and probably unavailable in the near north pole.

Harajuku on a Sunday is awesome, lots of people dress up all crazy, and its a fun place.

Akihabara, is great to go and look for electronics, hobby & model shops (not like they are here) & Maid Cafe's

Kabuki Cho: red light district good fora wander through

Roppongi: feels like your in america, if you wanta break from the Japaneseness.

you could go to Shibuya station and see the worlds busiest internsection (you seem to see pics of this thing everywhere, so some people may find that interesting)

Tsukiji (dont know if i spelt that right) fish markets are good to see if you want to get up early

and if you are there for a Saturday night, get an international license and hire a car. then drive to Dakoku Futo after midnight and go check out the cars in the carparks at the docks, its awesome.

    Cheers

Nope, first time to Japan. Been snowboarding in Europe, US and Canada before but heard the snow in Niseko is pretty much as good as it gets.

like anywhere the first run in the morning is the best before the masses arrive. enjoy the sun before you go, there isn't much around. night skiing is good too, the snow dump means no tracks from previous skiers but it's very cold.

take YEN as the resturant half way up the mountain doesn't take credit card, only cash.

you'll stop at this place on the bus between sapporo and niseko. the chicken kebab looks like chicken, smells like chicken and tastes like chicken, no ill affects after eating so all good. :p

staying at Hakuba outside Nagano. Love the country, we have a lot to learn with service and clean bathrooms, people are polite, food is good and different, pics to come of some cars, saw a fly yellow 360 made to look like a challenge car in the snow (god knows why), in ginza (doc likes to shop) saw lots of 355's and 430's, funny how most are LHD (possibly for world market).
