Countach FIRE in CT!??

No tarps or car covers outside! The wind will move that thing around and rub the paint or clear coat. Happened to me with a Harley and an old Porsche.
Maybe a car cover if it is for a short period of time. Not all winter.

Take that $15, add $25 and have a wrecker come out and move it into the garage.

 

I will bet that the car never makes it into the junk laden garage...

Face it, unless a Lambo drops down on your lawn, you would prep a garage before you buy such a car. But if you don't care to empty out a garage, car ends up on lawn. Heck, hide it in the backyard to avoid attention

Think they had cribs 200 years ago? The species survived. I'm with Roy on this one, it's just a car, and it's his car. Let him do what he wants with it.

 

It's humorous and nothing more. If the car rots away outside so what?

Look at the "big picture", every Countach that is wrecked makes the rest a little more valuable.

A little snow won't hurt anything. The car will be just fine, for a while.

 

Everyone also needs to look at the upside; the mechanic that eventually restores it may be able to send his kid to college AND gets a nice boat.

Thank you for enlightening me about this american expression "using a car as a lawn ormament". I never quite could figure what that meant.. Now I get it! That is actually the 1st time I saw someone putting it in practice. It all makes sense now. I personally would think it would be really cool to empale it on a post about 10 feets from the ground. heck some guy pout his on a wall of his house after having gutted the engine!..

All is a well now! the car is still outside same place but free of snow...The waether warmed up and melted it I guess. So at worst it will be just little puddle of water in the engine nooks that soon will evaporate..

And yes there is a small 2 cars garage 100ft from it attached to the house but since there is no room for the CT in it, I guess there are more important cars stored in it.
Cant wait to see the collection..

Hey, an up date for all my friends in Lamboland. Drove up Randy's street......as of tonight, Saturday 6:36pm.......the car is buried under our latest big snowstorm.....a storm that paralyzed my part of the state.
Nice to see he followed through with what he told me the first time.....that he was gonna git it moved to a garage.

As Patrick can attest, seeing this car is VERY heavy on the heart.......my name is Luca, I live on the 2nd floor..........

 

Peter, that was a really sad song. Don't worry, the Countach body is made from strong 1 mm thick aluminum.

 

i have a funny feeling this particular car will be rediscovered someday, many years from now, found in the very dusty back corner of a garage under many boxes, during an estate sale.....

Discouraged? I dont know but if he had the money to buy this thing he could have had the coin to store this car a bit better...

 

I have well over a foot in that storm. All the cars on the highway, that were stuck and some abandoned, were at my exit. Took me 3.5hrs to get home on a 25min drive.

My car is done but since I want a couple of more things done (coolant, carbs, and dash recovered), I asked him to tuck it away for 2 months or so.

As far as this car, I can not for the life on me not understand why he did not move the car to the garage or at least that giant gazebo on the other side.......Only thing I can think of is that house is split and has 2 families living there.

Can wait to bust his balls when I see him again.

Seriouly: Yes that car has not moved an inch so it is not even driven or repaired... A barn find in the making.

that house loosk like a 2 family side by side. the roof color is not the same. So may be the garage is not his but that would make for a 800 sqft house so a 2 family does not make sense . i am quite puzzled.

In the owners defense , he could be very busy or out of town, but whats puzzling to me is why if you are a avid car buff ( which he must be to buy a Countach ) why not get a decent car cover like a Wolf ( they have a soft lining that will not harm the paint) put it on tie it on the bottom, and then with a broom or plastic shovel take off some footage of snow from time to time . I think the more money you have the less you care ?

 

I've been giving this neglected 89 AE some thought; I seriously want to start a thread titled-

" I'm a Homeless Derelict Countach , can you spare some change "

I know this Randy might take some offense, but if a bunch of us pitch in $5 a head to at least buy this unloved car a decent/safe car cover, maybe it will make a point to this unusual owner

That can be the case at times but many times it is not. How would you explain massive and beautiful car collections owned by guys with tonnes of money?....they care
