While searching around Maranello today (1/4/2011) trying to see if I could find some places that might have vintage parts, I happened to see the new car testing.

Attached are the photo's taken of the vehicle.

The vehicle is not a Hatchback or shooting brake. The rear portion of the car has a canopy that is disguising the rear. It inflates and deflates at speed and when stopped, you can see the canopy drape onto whatever is holding it up - not a body contour.

A couple of things to note:

The car is Light Blue - all the Red you see is body tape
The passenger side has some type of bulge covered in the camo around the front right wheel
Lights for the rear appear to be similar to 599 lights.

You can see where the red coloring near the rear of the side window builds above the body contour to create the look of something larger or a rear hatch configuration.

The sound of the car is unbeliveable, especially when downshifting.

    Great!
Lights for the rear appear to be more similar to California.

The California lights are dummy lights with the brake lights in the lower bumper.

These lights are like the 599

Also notice the front hood. There is a distinctive bulge in the center around the area the top of the headlights would end/start. Not easy to see in the photo's.

they COULD of course be sitting in Maranello, laughing their asses off after putting a "ruck sack" under the covers on a more traditionally designed coupé, just to pull our legs...

That beast has a really long wheelbase and very little overhang front or rear. Must be close to the 612's 2950 mm. Pushing the rear axle that far back should allow good rear passenger space. The 612 was way bigger than the 456, with its 2600 mm wheelbase. This looks like it might be shorter overall than the 612.

Guess if I was really interested I could brake out the dividers and proportion it off the 20" OZ wheels.

I didn't perceive the car being abnormally long or strange in proportion.

Also note the notched area of the rear decklid as seen in the rear angled photo's

Personally I think it looks like a very wide car. Can't wait for the unveiling.

That could be pretty much anything under there.

Still, it's a cool spot! Thanks for sharing.

Wow! Nice shots! Can't wait 'till the car will be revealed!

If you line out the rear lights with the tail pipes, it very well can be that there will another pair on the outside. (just like the sketches point out)

I agree, there could be anything under there. One thing can be said: Ferrari does camo better than anyone!

How can you be so sure that it´s not a break? There could be anything behind that camo. And the short rear overhang fits with those sketches.

    WOW! Great spy pics!

Looking at the top right picture, not sure if that is inflated or deflated, but looks very Panamera-like

I hope they call it the 612 Camionette or the Serenissima 612 with special one-off features like a Volpi transmission and an Ettinger headliner.

Great scoop Shawn! Was just thinking that with a car that's due to be presented in March, Ferrari have really done a good job keeping it under wraps - just one set of pics so far. That is, until your shots.

In any case, the pics really tend to confirm the details of the sketch in post #4. I suspected that sketch was out of the ordinary, because very well executed, right down to the door mirrors! Not the typical wild-ass guess or photoshop.

Only difference is that the proto car has SA Aperta wheels instead of Cali wheels.

Do you have these in a higher-res?

Agreed. The glass roof as well can be seen in the sketch and the photo it's taped over.

I have other photo's that all seem to be the same basic details and in high res.

One I will post when I get a chance (not as easy to do in Italy when in an hotel) shows the rear brake lights lit up.

The central brake light illuminates in the rear plastic "cut out" of the canopy. It is well inside the canopy and illuminates the upper portion of the "cut out", which appears to be the rear part of the roofline.

In some of the posted pics, you can clearly see a "rib" that runs under the canopy to support it.
