I thought the 550's ended with the Balboni's? Good to see Lambo continuing to make a rear wheel drive 6 speed?
i thought the same thing i thought the balboni was the only gallardo with rwd. lambo needs to make this an option (along with a real 6 speed) on all their cars.
That's the thing. The Balboni was never the car that Lamborghini said was coming. The early media for the LP550 talked about it being the "entry level priced" Lamborghini, and the Balboni came out priced much higher than the pricing claimed by the company, which the standard LP550 now meets. It always felt to me that the Balboni was just a Special Edition of the LP550 and that standard cars were on the way. It took way longer than I thought to see them, for sure. In fact, I had given up and figured Lamborghini changed direction on the LP550 and instead of the "entry level" version, they were going to drop 350 of them as a limited run and move on. They seem to be selling ok, they aren't sticking around at dealers very long. I think Houston has sold 3 or 4 of them so far. Steve Pizatti from Top Gear Australia seems to like it... IMO, this car is a TON of car for the bucks..I think it well do real well..and as far as depreciation...percentage wise a HELL of a lot less loss in the future.. Just think.. Get your big Flagship car for the "special" times..and get this car for the every dady DD!! I just cant decide what color to get for myself..? Have nevr had a green one..did White already...thoughts.? BUT it will be a "proper" 6 speed 3 pedal car for sure!!
The way new exotic cars are depreciating today is unbelievable. Credit continues to be a problem for only the best quailified and those types are few and far between. Lenders particularly don't want to fund the purchase of used exotices without huge downpayments. Today be prepared to lose your shirt on these cars should you have to sell within a few years of buying them. There are a very few exceptions to this. I have several of these cars and have felt the sting. Think twice before you buy in todays world.
so is Lamborghini officially retracting its "we're the AWD exotic car company" stance? they really pinned their hopes (and marketing efforts) on this, starting with the Diablo VT...
Lamborghini changes it's mind like the wind !! First it was: ONLY AWD, then it was: NO manual transmissions, then they raised the price of their 'entry level car' to a point where nobody buys them. And, now, that's all out the window ??? ...... They are a ship lost at sea, with no true direction.
