I just have to mention that Gullwing has a Espada for sale its red , , I think its for sale at $ 27 K , i never mentioned it before because i really didn`t like the looks of them, but they are growing on me, So i studied the photos and it looks good , when i saw the motor photos i think thats when my brain clicked, V12 + all the carbs under that long hood. To me the motor looks clean and very attractive, my gut feeling is the car is a brute, I wish i had time to check it out. Front engine 12 cyl. Manual trans , rear wheel drive, Are these cars Posi-traction? , they must be fun to drive. Yes they are cool. I am a Espada fan now .

I don't know that anyone has gone over and looked at it though.
Yes they are brutes. These are not quick cars either. Not much is from that era by today's standards.
The ride is exemplary and they come alive after about 80 mph.
Your best bet is to buy one that's been loved by the PO who had enough money to treat his girl right. Not easy.
Go have a look but my guess is that you won't just be plopping your money down and driving the car for a couple of years.
If you get serious we can give you list of some of the stuff to check that's unique to the Espada. But do it in the Espada section.

If the clutch is toast, god only knows how many other problems lurk within.

    You too.

    You also figured it out.

  9. You just don't know until you look. In high school I bought a MGB, no one wanted to put a clutch in it. The engine comes out to do the clutch on one. I got a terrific deal on a nice car (overdrive & ac & no rust on a MG). It was cold, and my only source of heat in that garage was a old barbecue grill. Ha, nothing like a strapped budget. Anyways, for those that can work on things, this still could be a decent car.
