Ever since Ross Brawn left at the end of 2006, there has been a catalogue of bad strategy calls made by the Ferrari pit wall, i'm not saying these are the fault of Chris Dyer, but its clear that Ferrari need to make some changes in this area.
Won´t make much difference. BTW, I remember a few bad mistakes at the pits of McLaren when Pat Fry was in charge.
The last two years of Ross Brawn at Ferrari were not that great. Even his own team is not doing so well.
Wrong guy to be affected. Domencalli should have already been let go. Sad. As if this will prevent future gaffs. Silly.
The team has also announced that it has signed Red Bulls chief strategist Neil Martin. He will be in charge of a new department which will look into new ways to operate the team.
That "pig" of a car came within a hair's breadth of the WDC. Driver + strategy mistakes are to blame, not the car...
Only because Red Bull made too many silly mistakes. Their car was far better than the Ferrari, specially in the first half of the season.
I think the days of single team/single driver dominance are over in F1 (McLaren/Senna, Schumacher/Ferrari), so yes, you need a good car, but needless mistakesand there have been plenty by all the top teams over the last few yearsshould not be the deciding factor. In fact, I find it amusing that such a dominant car like the RB did not simply walk away with both championships much earlier.
The team, with this decision, is starting to emulate Frank in his drivers 'shuffle board' game, rediculous imho.
Bernie won´t allow that. Never. He looses money when that happens. (Off-Topic: BTW, was Senna really dominant? I mean, when the McLaren was dominant, he had to deal with Prost.)
Just curious, why do you think Stefano Domenicali should have been let go (I assume this is the person you are referring to as "Domencalli")?
Have to agree, Brawn GP couldn't have done much better!. It seems to have gone down the pan since Mercedes bought it!.
By God I hope you are right. Those were the most boring years of F1. And yes, I'm pretty sure Bernie got the message when thousands of fans stopped watching and will prevent such a debacle from happening again. As for Dyer: Good move to get rid of him.
No. I'm happy as long as different drivers win the races and the championships. Nothing is more boring than being able to predict the race/championship winner. Well actually one thing is: If the title is won halfway through the season. Might as well end the season right there.
Well, that was in 2009. Ferrari won a championship only two years ago and many are saying they´re already finished.
