Every now and then a vet is out of stock of a drug and they send the owner to us with a script. The owner is always amazed at how much cheaper the same drug is through us.
You can probably get whatever drug the old rat is put on at your local Pharmacy; but the catch is the Vet has to write a script.

 

Try feeding him aspirin.

That's not the same as you said earlier. Translating that post I believe you said it couldn't be done at a Pharmacy. A private prescription is just one that the government won't subsidise. Any Pharmacy could still dispense it.
