I finally got the 2011 911 Turbo S. I ordered in August, 2010 and the car got here end of December and I got the delivery on 1/4/2011 TUE... Finally!!! This has been my longest wait in my car purchasing history. Never waited for something this long but it's worth the wait. I am quite picky when it comes to options. The reason I ordered it was because from Porsche factory, most cars come with options that I don't need and I don't want; AND they don't come with options that I want! I opted for the no-cost Sports Bucket seats (2-tone) option that is an expensive option for most other cars. Got the white gauges for the speedometer/tachometer part and Sport Chrono. Also, got the clear taillights and body-color painted center console. The car is White and the seats are White/Black. The car wasn't as fast as I thought it would be since I'm already spoiled with the 458 that I got the delivery in August last year. But it's quite good. I think these two cars are about the same in terms of acceleration. Off the line is better with the 911 since it has the AWD and PDK (and "usable" launch control) but on the highway speeds, I think these two cars are neck to neck although I haven't tested them yet. I will post more writings when I get some more feedback with my new car.
Congrats on your new Turbo S. thos are awesome cars and very fast. Rnjoy safely, I had two 911's but never a turbo. I still lust over them. Lee
Thanks! I had an 08 Cayman S as my first Porsche. I bought it to test it out. I always thought Porsches are not that nice. But I got to like it so I tried the 911 Turbo after owning the Cayman for 9 months. Then 997.2 Turbo series came out and wanted to get one of those but soon the Turbo S news came out so I wanted to get that instead... Good choice... ;-)
Actually, it's at 6speedonline thread as well. ;-) But I posted it here, too, because I also own a 458 Italia and I promised some of my friends here at FerrariChat that I would let them know when I get the Turbo S.
Nah... Don't think so... I tried using it several times but it only works when the surface is dry and good. If the surface is bad and/or wet then it does not work. Whereas the AWD Turbo S works pretty much better than the 458. I do have both cars and I don't have a preference. I like both cars exactly same so I think my opinion is quite objective. ;-)
Queria trazer o Turbo S porque ja trouxi o 458 muitas vezes... Mas se voce quer, vou trazer o 458 de novo. ;-) Me escreve o email para [email protected] com os seus contactos.
Congrats on the purchase. A basic flash and the car will absolutely rip, those PDKs are so quick off the line.
Yes they are. I'm having a hard time getting used to as of right now because the throttle response and transmission shift points are so sensitive.
I for one would love to hear more of Jay's comments on his 911 s. I stopped my order for one and got the 458, but still wonder if I made a mistake. All the times the 458 sits in the garage when I could have been driving an S.
