If the weather is nice I will be out at California Speedway in Fontana, Ca for the next Speed Ventures event. Anyone interested in getting their ass kicked by an old guy in a Honda with the stock engine and aluminum drums? Noobs will get instruction and free rides in my car "The Money Pit." For moire details, go to http://www.speedventures.com/events/eventdetail.aspx?id=311 Scott
I'll be across the street from you next Sunday karting with some fellow Fchatters. Though currently the weather is looking a little questionable.
I'm interested. I need to look at the schedule to see what's going on with kids, etc. Hopefully I can make it on Sat. Dom
I'll be testing in the vette for a race on 1/23 so I'll stop by. Ping luigi and get that lazy A$$ Erine to show up. His car works now so he should have no excuse.
I'll consider myself pinged...checking my schedule, maybe Sunday. Lets do it up for the February 26th,27th event also though, eh ?? I'm a definate for that event, planning the food easy-up trailer in scenario. -Luigi
I'll be thinking about you.... NOT! Should be a perfect day for a romp in my car. Look for the old fat guy in the Red Honda, parked next to the Datsun 510. Scott
I racing to get my car back together to play on saturday at the autox to test some rideheight and bar changes. If that works out I'll run the roval on sunday and see what happens at 150mph then be back at ACS next week for the first race of our season.
Carl and his rebuilt ZR1. And some in-car video from my Honda. [ame]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FK2H-Gz9wC0[/ame] Image Unavailable, Please Login
Scott, The Z06 is a fail!!! It works great on the auto-x but on the speedway it vibrates starting at 90mph. I think I got a right bent drive axle. Gotta buy more parts!
And I have an oil leak and some busted plastic body panels. I guess I have some new projects to keep me busy. But what's the fun of a car if you can not fix it? Scott
Like I said, lets plan for the 27th of feb !?!? Nice video, gets me excited. Carl,....You gotta quit break'in your cars, man! JK Personaly, I'm planning H20/meth inj and rev limiter for spring project.....
Luigi, I'm a no for Feb 26 that is an SCCA race weekend for me. Maybe Scott and company will show for that however.
Luigi, You should come out and play with your Alfa Brothers this weekend at WSIR! http://ferrarichat.com/forum/showthread.php?t=308546 I'll be there. Alfa has made their run groups better and their tech process way easier. This is the most fun group of guys to run with and they love to see their Ferrari brothers out there.
Won Regional SCCA title in my class then collected a BMW up my tailpipe to the back of the gas tanks. It was all better with amazing rebuild 50/50 cross weight on the dot and ride height adjusters within 1 mm of each other! The frame guy was stellar. I auto-x the car as a brake in before the roval and car was perfect. Then got a 100mph vibration on the roval. Swapped wheels no good. Dial gaged the axles, hub, rotors, etc all in spec.. But I still suspected axle cv's. Just took both axles out of car and you can feel the right outboard CV all stiff and knarly! My gut was right eventhough the dial gage said it was OK. I'm racing with Alfa Club at WSIR this weekend as a test before my next SCCA race in Feb '11. That's it not a big story but cost me north of $6K in repairs/parts.
I really want to be there on the 27th...but my car is currently broken. If I make good progress I will be there. Scott
I really want to be there... but my transmission has puked up a bearing and so I will be spending quality time with the greasey side of my car for the next couple of weekends. Scott
