My teenage son was roughhousing with some friends and fell down with his iPhone in his pocket. His screen shattered and even though the phone worked there was very little that you could make out on the screen.
His phone was just about 11 months old
He went online, made a genius bar appointment at one of the local Apple stores, went in and walked out 10 minutes later with a replacement screen on his phone, no charge.

That is the acme of customer service service. You could offer him a dozen androids, windows phones, HTC whatsits, star trek communicators etc etc - he is an Apple user for life.

Hats off to Steve Jobs and the customer culture he has put 100% into every Apple product and Apple associate.

I just saw one of my cousins who's screen is shattered. That wasn't his experience.

They wanted to charge him $200.

IO was in Verizon a couple of years ago, the girl ahead of me in line was on her 3rd Razor.
She admitted that she held the phone with her shoulder and head bent and that was breaking her phones. She was cute and the tech was young, her Razor was replaced as defective.

I could not help wondering 'what if she was a he, would the tech treated him as good'.

My 5 year old 17" Imac was getting vertical lines on the screen. Googled it, and found Apple had a problem with the screens on these units. They replaced them for a few years, but mine didn't show up until year 5, and was told not covered under warranty. I took it in to my original store after Christmas, told them my problem, and they covered the repair, no charge. That made me an Apple owner for life. Saved me $600+.

Sometimes it takes a bit of work, but comparatively Apple's customer service can't be beat. I had an old USB mighty mouse I got with my old iMac and about once a year the little ball would get dirty and wouldn't move and I just kept going back to the store and they'd simply hand me a new mouse.
