Can we conclude that the LP400S with the hand brake lever on the left side of the seat are actually those LP400 that where transformed into LP400S at some point ? Or would that be much too simple ?
Unfortunatelly, Dino Crescentini, owner and pilot of the Wolf-Dallara, lost his life in this car at Mosport racetrack in 2008. Just Google his name for more information. Image Unavailable, Please Login
Thanks, I'm slowly being given a few solid facts I can really trust. Joe, is your book giving all these details ? Will buy one day anyhow, just curious in advance... Cheers, Emmanuel
Well, I'm currently on the 288 GTO book. So, although I have a lot of archived data, it will appear in a publication several years down the line. But, this thread is always a good place to exchange information about the car that made Lamborghini famous..
To elaborate on your question, there is no logical reason for an LP400S (or any Countach for that matter) to have a left-side handbrake lever, other than the fact that it had a previous life as an LP400. Of course the remote possibility exists that the car has been thus modified, but the trained eye can spot that in an instant.
How many men today can admit to having a picture of a Countach up upon their (lime green!) bedroom wall in the 80s?? Image Unavailable, Please Login
The green & gold Countach Forbes had built was a car he took delivery of. In fact there are pictures of him with it in this thread, and others of him with Liz Taylor in the car, sitting on those gold-flake seats!! FWIW it was a USA spec 1987 Countach, not a 25th.
Countach owners in discussion: F1 World Champion Mario Andretti and Malcolm Forbes discuss the Countach's (many) shortcomings over a few glasses of wine at the launch of the Diablo, January 1990. Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
Have anywhere an LP400 for sale in red or yellow or other colors? I am looking for a long time on a LP400 Thanks
"Riccardo Fontes", please stop wasting everyone's time. This thread is an enthusiast's resource to the mutual benefit of the people who exchange information here. It is not a place where pretenders, trouble-makers or wannabees last very long. You have contacted me on multiple occasions (along with other brokers who have compared notes with me) and each time you have been invited to take the next step, your response has been exactly nothing at all. Perhaps I can refresh your memory: http://ferrarichat.com/forum/showpost.php?p=140132141&postcount=8442 http://ferrarichat.com/forum/showpost.php?p=140132349&postcount=8449 http://ferrarichat.com/forum/showpost.php?p=140132374&postcount=8452 Your entire so-called quest for your "father's" long-lost LP400 is a farce. First it was a yellow car sold to Illiinois that you were seeking. Then it was any LHD yellow LP400. Then it was a RHD yellow LP400. Now it is a red OR a yellow or any color LP400. Your posts speak for themselves: http://ferrarichat.com/forum/search.php?searchid=4457407 In the year that you have been contacting me, I have sold 3 (three) LP400. The last one within the past month. Yes, it was red. Yes there is another LP400 available. However the seller has instructed me thus: "No time-wasters, please".
I have always been a bit weird. I had a pic of an attractive black woman on a harley! but it was the 70's and I was a teenager! I first saw a countach in glasgow in 1977 in convoy with a bora and a 911 turbo. Turned my fiat 127 around and followed them to the garage much to the annoyance of my then girlfriend. As any sensible man would do I dumped her and kept perving on cars! Paul xxx
I am reposting this pic from the Countach Fire Thread. Now it is chronicled in this great thread here. I should have added a money jar with sign inside the door of the Countach lol I've been giving this neglected 89 AE some thought; I seriously want to start a thread titled- " I'm a Homeless Derelict Countach , can you spare some change " I know this Randy might take some offense, but if a bunch of us pitch in $5 a head to at least buy this unloved car a decent/safe car cover, maybe it will make a point to this unusual owner Image Unavailable, Please Login
I can not say anything bad about Randy because I will most likely see him again. If he sees this board he will blame/question me. I'm guilty. But, however, that will not stop me from busting his ball about what he is NOT doing with that car. Wish it wasn't such a rough winter here in Connecticut.....I'd drive the Urraco over and visit.
Eventually someone on some car forum would have outed the owner. Being ostracized publicly should not be a surprise when you own and disregard a 6 figure car (especially on the lawn of a small home, that does have an enclosed garage)
I have stated many a time..my 400 periscopa, Red/Black is for sale..but the first figure needs to be a 7....with 5 other figures behind it and the decmial point at the end. Out of market range...maybe..but then go find another one..
Ok, there is one on Ebay right now - is anyone in this thread bidding on it? If so, I refrain. Otherwise, I'm going to buy it and make a digital version that I'll share with people. Let me know by Wednesday - otherwise I'm bidding on it.
