My 355 needs new tires.

My 355 needs new tires. I am not sure what brand and what type to buy so I'll appreciate all hints and recommendations.

I am looking for a very good grip for a wide range of termperatures.
I'll be driving in the mountains so even during summer the local tarmac temperature might occasionally drop well below 10°C/50°F while at the same time it might have over 50°C/122°F on the highway.

I love my Michelin Pilot Sports. Very sticky tire and they lasted much longer than the Pirelli's that I had before.

I ordered these tires 295/35ZR18 BFGoodrich g-Force T/A KDW 2 front, 225/40ZR18 BFGoodrich g-Force T/A KDW 2 rear from the Tire Rack, the fit is perfect for OEM wheels. I had the car on the track last year and noticed a big difference in handling with these tires. The price is very reasonable also.

 

Bridgestone R11

 

For longer milage: Bridgestone RE 050A-PP (a bit more weather tollerant)
For more grip: Bridgestone RE-11 (a bit more track oriented)
I can also recommend Michelin PS2s (a bit dated)

 

Had Michelin PS 2's, and to buck the trend with these I'm not really that impressed given the cost. This Saturday I am having them changed out for Toyo T1r's, I have run these before on another car and was super happy with them, I cannot wait to see how they go on the 355. The Michelin's have lasted well though.

Bridgestone RE-11 look fantastic, a friend has them on his Porsche and is over the moon with them.

 

Try www.tirerack.com. They have great reviews on all the tires people will recommend here. Even if you don't get them there they have great information.

I have found the Bridgestones to be soft on the sidewall. It has a nice tread but I think it's a fail on handling.

I really like the Michelin PS2s. Very sticky, smooth, and great handling. I would caution warming up any high performance tire before getting on the gas. Cold tires can be like ice skates.

I will say that I'm real interested in the new Michelin Super Sports. But, I don't think they have any sizes yet and I don't know their time frame.

 

the new Michelin super sports are supposed to be available by April, no idea on sizes.

 

Love my RE-11 tyres and they are giving much better mileage than I expected. When they do wear out I will get another set.

 

I just put some new skins on my wheels .......... went with PS2s ......... so far so good

 

I'm also riding on the BFG G-Force T/A KDW 2. Size 22/40/18 in front, 275/40/18 (I think) in rear. They have been great so far. I have a set of wider Bridgestone RE050A tires on the way that will be mounted on a set of CCW rims. I expect those will be fine as well since some Enzo were originally equipped with an earlier RE050 compound.

Ferrari Brand= Pirelli would offer the real all season driveability

 

Micheline PS2 295 35 rears and 245 40 fronts and if your 355 does not handle good with these tires then your setup is screwed. believe me many many 355 owners have their cars lowered or raised and wonder why the car handles like a bag of marbles. Some dont even know the words Front end alignment.

Some previous owner gave my 355 wheel spacers. Shall I get rid of them?
Mind you: they do make my 355 look good!

 

I've got spacers on with Bridgestone S01s 265 rears and 225 fronts. No issues on handling but will defer to more experienced drivers.

 

all the tyres mentioned are excellent but their wear rating SUCKS! . I want a tyre to last longer then one season or more then 5k miles

I guess it could be a matter of what you like .... I have michelin Pilot in my 355 and love them... they look right !!!
but my personal opinion... ferraris should have no other tire than Michelins

you could give me Michelins ...last set I had lasted maybe 8k miles

 

Your Michelins should last longer than 5000 miles or your cars set up is really off. They should last closer to 10,000 miles and by then they will be 5 years old and time to scrap them anyway as the rubber gets too hard especially if you live in the south where any kind of rubbers longivity is greatly reduced.

Closer to 8k which was only 1 season for me. I guess they would be great for garage queens. Mi car is road king so I want something to last longer
