I know its not a "real one".. interesting though, Its in the Coys Auction at the Autosport show..
Th Catalogue Blurb is trying to make it out to be a GTO Alternative with change for an F40, its based on a on a 308 (done by Belinetta Motorcars of New York)
Does anyone know the real reason behind this car, is it an IMSA?

This is the GTO from DK Engineering at the 2010 FOC National Concours at Walton Hall in the UK. The car is currently for sale at DK and was driven to the concour along with an F50.

Indeed they were. I was en route to the Concours myself when I suddenly saw this F50 in my mirrors, swiftly followed by the GTO. What a sight (and sound!) on a sunny summer's day. Picture is courtesy of my passenger (unfamiliar with my camera).

The plate on the GTO is just a UK temporary "trade" plate.

I have to say it again, the GTO is the best looking car ever created.

    Different car.

The car was brought to the Concours by DK Engineering but is not the car that is currently offered by them.

    Are you sure?
I visited David Cottingham and he showed me the car himself 2 days before the concours, and it had the same plates as on the concours. There I met with James and he showed me the car, so I was certain that it was the one for sale, and they only had one when I was there. Or did they have two?

Hi, I'm a rookie here. I have a 288 question and I wonder if anybody might reply?

    1. The black "triangles" that are behind the rear window, are they painted on the roof panel like the A-posts or something different? I know the rear quarter windows ends more to the rear, for example visible on the F40 with the engine cover open.

    2. The Gas/Petrol and Oil lids, are they metal or fibreglass?

There are no 288 GTO's in Sweden, but a few F40's.

    Thanks in advance
    Thomas

    1. Those are masked on the Lexan's underside. Not painted.
    2. From memory these are aluminum.

Yes. The car wearing these 'trade' plates was available with DK Engineering from at least April 2010 and was indeed the car shown by DK Engineering at the 2010 FOC Concours.

It is not however the same car that they are currently offering, the car that was present at the Concours has been sold and this is a different car.
