I just got the car and was looking forward to my first weekend with it and something is wrong.

After it warms up it starts to bog down above 3-4k rpm's and the emmision control light starts flashing. I turned the car off and restarted it and now the light stays on.

Any advice as to what this may be? Car has 11K miles on it.

It could be one of the cat's and/or oxygen sensor(s) that has failed.

The dealer will get an idea once they plug the diagnostic computer into the car...

Bogging down sounds like the catalytic converters are coming apart inside the exhaust and causing it to clog + the emissions like coming on.

I assume you are in Texas?

Catalytic converters have a 8 year 80k mile federal emissions warranty on them in the U.S., so if your car is newer than 8 years and has less than 80k miles on it and they are OEM factory installed converters they should be covered under the warranty. If they are aftermarket get out your wallet.

    What year is the car?
Did you have a pre-purchase inspection done?
What a disappointment-- first drive spoiled. Total bummer
