you REALLY hate the idea of this new car don't you? well, to YOU it may simply be a rehash. But, it will start around $430k, similarly priced to 670-SV, and you get...

    700hp N/A, less 'stressed' all new V-12
Carbon Chassis, Horiz dampers (as opposed to tubular and square steel spaceframe)
    Alloy fr/rr subframes, Carbon Brakes
    'thumpy' superfast ISR gearbox
and it looks like a Lambo...

sub 3,400lb car with large N/A V-12 (500lb engine) to meet latest strict crash and emissions req...not too bad at all...

Ken Okuyama isn't Italian and still designed the Enzo
even the P4/5 was designed for New Yorker Jason Castriota

the same goes for Lowie Vermeersch who designed the ITALIA !

the list goes on & on ...

So you better educate yoursefl and then throw an opinion .

and for this thread topic :

    Don't feed the troll

I agree 100%. Styling is subjective... I saw this car at the private unveiling and while it is not perfect, it is very good looking. The technology advancements contributed by the German ownership is astounding. When it is announced and shown at Geneva, it will be THE benchmark supercar and the standard to beat in normally aspirated production cars, IMO.

Evo had a little insight into it & explained the ISR gearbox. While I'm still in awe of the carbon chassis & F1 suspension though not new but exciting to be available to the masses. I think they said the compression is raised to 12.7? could be lesser but there's a good video on the new engine too.

Exactly. Boom, spot on. The window line is the same as the Gallardo!

I like it, but not as a Murcielago replacement.

Roy, I'm assuming that you have seen the LP700-4 in the metal? If so, could you comment on the accuracy of the rendering in the original post?

    I have to agree.

It may be new but it's just a Murci with a cheap looking body kit.

This gets my vote for idiotic statement of the day. The car shares nothing construction or mechanically with a Murcialago. Performance wise it is going to crush the Murci, its an evolutionary leap forward. If you think you cant see the desiegn ideology passing from the Miura all the way down to now the Aventador your blind. I have had my Gallardo parked next to Countachs Diablos and Murcis all at once and there are certain lines angles and dimensions that are similar. Should they have made it look like a Ford Focus so that it looked like no other Lamborghini before?

Spy Shots: Lamborghini Murciélago replacement caught wearing only camo

Lamborghini Murciélago replacement spy shots – Click above for high-res image gallery

We won't necessarily argue with an automaker (especially Lamborghini) unwrapping its new hotness from the inside out. Recently, we received a photo of the Murciélago replacement's new pushrod suspension – something we were first discovered during our talks with the Lamborghini's CEO, Stephan Winkelmann, at the 2011 Detroit Auto Show. Now, our intrepid spy photographers have snapped Lamborghni's new flagship, tentatively dubbed Aventador, wearing nothing but swirly camouflage over its newly redesigned body.

The new Lamborghini's gorgeous bodywork takes many of its cues from the Sesto Elemento concept that debuted at the Paris Motor Show last year. Underneath the sexy exterior is the automaker's new V12 heart of gold, and we should see the finished product in the flesh at this year's Geneva Motor Show in March. In the meantime, continue the striptease for yourself in our high-res gallery below.

Come on now........Do you think a 288GTO looks like a modified 308GTB? The uninformed would say so, but EVERY new car has a basis in an older car, and what is under the skin is what really matters in a super car and it sound like under the skin there are huge technological improvements in the Aventador over the Murci leading to lighter weight, more power, and better handling.

The skin is the most important part of a Lambo, and as such, this car is a bit of a disappointment.

Comparing the Lamborghini halo car to the FF is odd at best. The 599 GTO would be a better suit if not the Enzo successor.
