I think Tony registered the car in Oklahoma, but surely they would run the VIN and see that it was reported stolen... I just called Tony. He is heading over to there now to check it out.
I once did WAY worse.... embarassed to say, I left my E350 cube van running ALL NIGHT. I had gone out to warm it up, but ended up not going out that night and simply forgot about it Needless to say, I got zero MPG that night I wore a dunce hat for the next week. But I digress..... back to the WTF already in progress! Jedi
Also. The car has Oklahoma tags on it. Therefore, that may be throwing cops off and they probably do not want to go thru the process of checking with Oklahoma law officials. The passanger front wheel is flat and the front and rear bumper is cracked. People are stopping to look but they probably think it is a bait car eventhough it is wrecked. I suspected the car was stolen as I could not imagine someone leaving a ferrari unattended for 3 days.
1) Take pics of the car as is 2) Touch nothing. 3) Contact LE and TELL THEM where it is and that it is stolen and you know who's it is. 4) Touch nothing.
I have run my truck dry before by hitting the autostarter. Took me a while to figure out why the truck was in the driveway with no gas in it.
I just talked to Tony. He is driving over there now to check it out. He called DPD as soon as he saw the tip here, but they refused to go look until Tony confirms the car is his. Yes, our tax dollars are hard at work in Dallas...
Well this thread is better than anything on TV tonight... Sadly it seems like it might end badly Image Unavailable, Please Login
Call him back and remind him to touch nothing. Not even with gloves or anything on. Dont open the door, nothing. Otherwise, he will destroy any case that the cops have.
And it goes without saying take LOTS OF PHOTOS "in situ" - every angle - every dent, ding, whatever. Long shots too - to show relationship to surroundings. Preferably NOT with a bloody CELL PHONE camera.... use a REAL CAMERA! Jedi
Possible stolen vehicle and the police won't go take a look? And if Tony wasn't able to get down there and take a look, I guess the car would just sit there? Lazy police down there. We don't have those issues around here, there would be 5 officers rushing over there to try and get the recovered stolen vehicle report for their monthly stat sheets.........
I don't get it. A blue Ferrari is reported stolen Saturday and one is tagged by the police for towing (also on Saturday) and nobody put two and two together that this just might be the missing car? No one ran the VIN or tags? Then he calls them to say the car is found but they won't even send a squad car to investigate until the owner verifies it's the same car? Like I said, I don't get it I hope it all works out.
