Hate to say it but I've had the same thoughts. Also, given the thread about the insurance costs.

I really hope I'm wrong and this works out as best it can for the OP.

Fresh out of college, worked for an insurance broker with distinguished clients and high priced vehicles. With any claim, you will be required to sign a statement of facts " affidavit " ... I witnessed quite a few claims declined based on discrepancies in such affidavit. What may seem insignificant to you or I, the claims investigator will look at any and all angles not to pay a claim, and in certain circumstances posture against the policy holder with the threat of prosecution. In one instance, a claim on a Rolls which burned to the ground was denied due to a sworn statement regarding the condition of the tires. The owner did not realize that the bottom part of a tire does not burn and when on asphalt leaves an impression .... the owner " greedy " was claiming new tires to pad the settlement, the insurance investigators had " proof " of a fraudulent claim. By no means am I implying any wrong doing here, but as a second claim, you will likely get a bit more attention. Best of Luck.

Guys and Girls. I'm no Kojak but when it looks like a rat and smells like a rat, it must be a what "A RAT". Draw your own conclusions. The quote above was in the TEXAS section dated 1-10-11. A week later this supposed theft happens. A thief does not lock the doors. He does when he's told too so no one comes along and vandalizes the interior. The way Ferrari electrics are you do not want someone yanking the electrical/cutting wires/busting out the ignition. Therefore, insurance only has to pay for bodyparts and labor. Hope theres no grass in that damage. INSURANCE JOB???.

I'm thinkin a couple of shots of Jameson is more like it.

Besides there is a Neil Young concert on Bravo as we speak. This is a great nite!

Tried the Political Correct approach, hence the suggested thought process when filing a claim. FYI Insurance investigators are out in force, including chat rooms. No pun intended but " probable cause " saw the car Saturday, giving an investigator " probable cause to question all involved on this thread ..... hindsight is 20/20 and in this case silence would have been golden !

So did it get all detailed after the spin-out in the ditch last week (see relevant post)?

Would REALLY suck to have a car spin out in a ditch in the ice get stolen just a week
later and happen to have lots of body damage... especially if it had just been
freshly detailed in just a few days before the theft. Be sure to submit the detailing
bill along with the theft report to the INS......

    Yikes......

lets be careful, none of us know for sure what happened and hopefully Tony doesn't either.

    Agree, Rob.

I don't know him well, but it seems that Tony has been a bit snake-bitten as of late.

Too bad that the insurance co. will not look kindly on these (this series of) events.
He may prefer to deal with the IRS at this point.

I agree. Give the guy a break. I just got off the phone with him again, and he's standing out there next to his car waiting for a flatbed to arrive. I suppose it's easy to trash someone when he's not online here to defend himself.
