STOMP him! Seriously, why are you boys dealing with such an idiot? Life is not about winning or losing, keep cool. It's easier said than done but consequences can injure or kill a 3rd party, imagine if that Pizza bike got ran over, poor chap's life will not be the same again.
I don't have the bill with me but oil would be billed per litre+filter & some other labour fee which is usually RM100~500 depending on difficulty. I would suppose just a few hundred bucks in Ringgit with 80% of the bill on oil. They did a semi-major job with belts change, all fluids flushed, cam cover seals (a service kit from Ricambi), new radiator fan, re-cond air-con compressor all for about or less than RM6K if I recall. They subsequently billed me RM600 to fix an oil leak near the firewall which is seriously a PITA due to space & they wouldn't want to drop the engine which means a bigger bill. Actually, changing oil is so easy that we can seriously do it ourselves if you have a good jack, oil pan & means to discard used oil. I just serviced my 2.8 Merc @ EM Sg & took no more than an hour (engine is not too hot as it's 5mins drive away) plus general inspection on undercarriage. OK, even when I serviced my Murcielago & Testa which are V12s, they didn't cost more than S$600 & definitely below $1000. So, let's get real. Anything more than 5hours raises an alarm & 11hrs is akin to daylight robbery to me even if you have to run a system check with the laptop. Wonder if they start clocking the moment your car enters the door! So, exotic car owners, you are wealthy but do you like to be taken for a ride? RM1=S$0.42+/-
TP better catch this guy fast or he's gonna cause a fatal accident sooner or later with such irresponsible and reckless driving antics.
Utmost respect for the guy, who makes it a point to drive all his classics and not just display them as showpieces!
Forgot to add this. Some if not all of us including me will question if the 3rd party workshop or even agent has the competent mechanic to handle your car as it's known that workshops take your car for joyrides or crash it during testdrives. Dealers should have this covered under their policy but I don't suppose they'll give you a new car & that Tan Ah Kow guy can't probably even pay for that cracked bumper. So, do your due diligence.
Agreed. Having said that I'm sure that everyone has at some time seen a bit of the red mist when provoked- I can assure you that Toto for example is one of the safest drivers out there and one of the best. He doesn't even go fast on the N-S... for him to react I can assure you was something in itself.. What is scarier is the fact that this guy in the AMG clearly does not know when enough is enough and doesn't seem to do just a pass by but rather continue hunting down people to the point of harrasment.
The guy is clearly nuts and needs to take it to the track. He will quickly realise that driving is not about road racing and being reckless but rather knowing when to do what. This guy needs to be taught a lesson. We are gonna do everything to entice him out and report him to the TP...
Let's do it! I can dig out my walkie talkie for this Having a fast car doesn't warrant to being a champion but this guy obviously doesn't understand it.
Harold, since you're online, let's talk about cars. How do you compare & overcome the Evo's 4WD vs the RWD of the RS, especially when attacking corners & coming out of it? Which do you favour & how do you dial in the settings on your suspension?
u guys are crazy if u r thinking of baiting the guy who is obviously super dangerous as it is. u got his plate no, 2 complaints can be lodged already ,just hope it wasnt his mechanic taking it for a "testdrive"
I asked Ital Auto why it required 11hrs to do a 10k km service? They just replied standard service package by Italy state 11 hrs labour. We need to do our service at Ital in order to purchase the warranty after yr 3 so it's like kind of no choice thingy. :-(
Speak of the devil! Just saw this car at havelock/Kim Seng junction revving his engines at e lights. C63 is dark grey...
I think good idea. Big turnout can always split into 2-3 groups. Once on E22, it is almost like an enclosed arena so cannot get lost. Everyone can go at their own comfort speed and all can meet at the end.
Pls ask about 355 major service + water pump refurbishment. Can we bring aftermarket parts like Hill bearings for them to fit? If the price makes sense which I suspect it will, I might as well have a holiday in KL while they do the car or even fly up and down and enjoy the drive as well.
What's up with this guy? Yep, life is too short to play with idiots like him but I can bet he'll do all he can to provoke.
wow those C63 drivers are trouble makers .. I glad we've got the number otherwise I would have accused Mrs K of causing havoc again along Orchard Rd. I am surprised that he was able to rev his engine loud enuf to set off the car alarms, as the engine is limited to 4k rpm whilst in P or N
Mate, I have got very stiff springs on the rear of the Evo. This stiffens up the rear end and causes it to break traction a lot earlier. So to get the car to pivot into corners I trail brake, or rather tap the brake mid corner to pivot the car and then floor it to stop the rear end from swapping out. Otherwise the natural tendency is for the Evo to push through corners when breaking traction beyond the limits of the tires grip. Quite frankly between the two cars its a toss up. Both are so different. With the 911 you have to be far more delicate in the foot action or the car will break away very violently. But at the same time it is still a very maneouverable car.... fully controllable with the throttle but seeming to be more intimidating to drive in that manner. The Evo, to me is really the most complete car I could imagine when modded right. Strong straight pulling capability (way faster than my RS, and easily as fast as most 430 scuds, 997 turbos and GTRs on the street and track), braking is stunning with amazing pedal feel and the size of the tires hold perfectly to the brakes spec'd (especially when you run AP racing brakes), cornering using the throttle to overcome understeer is easy and non dramatic- and the car still holds a very tight line even compared to the RS, it is stunningly stable at high speed and through high speed corners, the car tire sizes are perfect for N-S drives in the wet as 245 is still borderline ok for aquaplaning- basically it is as good if not better than the 997 GT3RS in every respect. And reliability- it can run 15 very hot laps with no reliability issues. Its the car to have if you dont care about image but want something that you can push at 9/10ths and defeat almost anything on the road or track.
Yeah mate not looking to bait him to race- looking to bait him and then call the cops on him immediately. We can just send in a complaint to the police with his car number? Typically what will that result in mate?
Shouldn't be too hard, I think I've seen him a couple of times around the Dempsey/Farrer/Holland area. Roughly know where he lives too because I've seen him in my neighbourhood. I wouldn't bait him though, he's clearly cuckoo.
Unless there's substantial evidence like vid or pics, the police can arrest him. Even if you lodge a report, you will have to do a magistrate's filing and he will decide whether the case shld be opened. Lodged a report on a crazy uncle who kept pointing fingers and intended provocation and hence know a bit on the above procedure.
