a whole lotta gross! another shame...ferrari is getting so predictable.
Dan, I'll probably listen to you along with 6 other people more than anybody else. Good to hear we're on the same page.
I had a Panamera rental car in Germany and car actually grew on me, very comfortable & fast. For me, it's not so much the design of the FF that bothers me, it's the crossover/hot hatch segment in general. The Panamera Turbo is a stretch of the imagination at $170k, I couldn't imagine paying $300,000+ for a similar car. They certainly have the right to extend the brand into this segment but there are some good competition out there for sports cars. For $70k more you get the new Lamborghini LP700-4 (monocoque carbon tub and new engine platform). And Four Seats Four Wheel Drive delivers the name FF? Come on, Ferrari, you can do better than that.
You're getting dangerously close to arguing about the 612 replacement making sense in some way The 4 seaters have always been a value challenge and this one will be no different, what they do tend to offer is more exclusivity than you get with other Ferraris, turn up at Ferrari event and there might often be less 612s than F40s. But as the maxim goes, valuable things are often rare, not all rare things are valuable. I have 24K on my 612 and don't regret owning one. As Ferris said - "If you have the means, I highly recommend picking one up".
What is being over looked here, is that the FF represents many firsts for Ferrari. Granted the car isn't a beauty queen from the front (at least to my eye). However this is the first production 4 wheel drive Ferrari, the first direct injection V12 Ferrari, it has the largest engine ever fitted to a Ferrari road car, it is the largest and heaviest Ferrari ever, and it is the first V12 Ferrari fitted with a dual clutch gearbox. I personally can not wait to see one in the flesh, nor can I wait to see the 6.2 liter V12 to be fitted to the smaller lighter 599 replacement.
I'm a fan of the Z3 M coupe but this just does not work on a Ferrari. Feel sorry for the top customers at each dealer that will be asked to take these.
Not at all ugly! Absolutely disgusting I think would be the proper term. You need to have your eyes checked.
I was commenting on the attributed prior-post. That post indicated 600HP Even at 650 HP for a 6.2 litre V12 is "not much more" than a pitance compared to the 570 Ferrari gets from the 4.5 litre V8. Had Ferrari put 458-level HP in the 6.2 they would have seen 785 HP !!!!! The Vette had nothing to do with anything I mentioned. Once again, I made no mention of nor any implication of any Vette motor, blown or unblown. My comment was to the mediocre level of tune for the 6.2 in FF form.
Then I'm totally confused. Why did you ask why the 4.5 Vette v8 make 560 HP then? That seems like a pretty clear reference to me.
I don't think any Vette has had a 4.5L engine.... ever. Never a mention of a Vette from Mitch. You mentioned the Vette which had nothing to do with any other statement in the entire thread from out of no where.
Some people here seem to be drama queens I second the thought on all the firsts and technical innovation in this new car. I think it's so cool!
That does help quite a fair bit but the rear head room might be affected. Anyway, the car reminds me of the breadvan or that Subaru Wrx which went over to hatchback while the rear arches is like the Sti version. Oh my....
