Congratulations Jim! Truly an inspiration, the vision and perseverance to get this monumental task completed is something that very few accomplish. Zac
About the color of P4/5. I think that the carbon fibre body could look bad in a grid of coloured cars, and the black version hides the wonderful curves of Pininfarina style. I have found the Van den Brink hypotesis of a blue version (with white stripes) and now I believe this can be a good solution, doing a beautiful constrast with the red road P4/5... The red race version is also beautiful, but maybe it can be too much "normal". And you are american...and american cars race livery is blue with white stripes... Just my own opinion... I LOVE THAT FIRST PIC!!! Love how the background disappears into the fog. And your car with the lights on...FANTASTIC!!!
Jim, Please don't do it... Why would anyone want to wrap up such beautiful carbon weave? It looks just stunning in raw dry carbon. Most cars need paint (or wrapping), yours most certainly doesnt. Epic. One of my favourite ever cars destined to be road legal registered.
Jim did you guys clear coat the car? Asking because with out UV protection (which clear coat would provide) carbon tends to yellow. I think it should be painted/wrapped carbon's getting a little over done these days, my two least favorite things are starting to be bare carbon and Alcantara... Gimme pretty paint and leather and I'm happy. That said wrap it in some outrageous obnoxious USA livery, think Team America!
I'm leaning to leaving her as a Dark Shark. If we do we'll clear coat her. In the carbon she looks pretty good au natural.
I agree.. just clear coat, throw on that stripe and call it a day. It'll even make replacement panels (no doubt you'll need some after the 24) that much easier to deal with. And on second thought, it's kinda funny to think of P 4/5 as the "good sister" who went to college.. while the "Dark Shark" was raised by another family on the wrong side of the tracks.
Jim Congratulations and good luck in the forthcoming races. The car looks perfect. I hope the Ferrari Design Team will take a careful look at it, because the looks of the FF ... Gr. Xander
