go out and start looking for a last generation 612 one 2 one with 599 superfast trans and full glass roof , because that is the last gentlemans ferrari you will see for a while , until ferrari see's what a mistake they made with this california makes love to a bmw z3 coupe that made this ugly baby of a car !!!! lol
They did the lights better than on the Mulsanne (ie not droopy downwards). Like the Turbo R/Arnage and previous Continental, I wouldn't be surprised if they do a 16 year run evolving the same body shape.
this car will be over $400k loaded , just go out and get a 2008-2010 612 one to one before there prices jump up after this abortion of a car , $220k gets u a classic ferrari that makes a statement . p.s. thats what happens when pininfarina hires non italians to design italian cars , you get crap like this . just because it'a a new ferrari doesn't make it better looking all the time.
A valiant PhotoShop effort, but I don't think any of the 12 colors we've seen so far really work. It's just not a beautiful car. It's a bunch of compromises. It does hold 28 cubic feet of stuff with the rear seat folded down. I'll admit that must be a record for a Ferrari.
+1 It's over. I thought it was bad when they started offering navigation systems. I have a couple of Ferrari shirts that say, "We will never build an SUV." Now I am not so sure that it won't happen one day. I like my sports cars sporty, my luxury cars luxurious, and my SUV's trucky. I don't want a Rolls Royce that handles like a sports car, or a SUV with all of the amenities of a Cadillac. I would rather they close their doors than build BMW looking hatchbacks. Sports cars should be styling leaders, not followers. WHY!!!!!
I fell for the original sketch and put down a deposit for the 612 But it sure fell very short of the renderings
I think they would rather keep their doors open and continue ensuring a few thousand people their livelihood. The 458 - a sports car - IS a styling leader. FF 4-seater didn't make the 458 go away.
I noticed that the wheels seem to be the same as the Aperta ones. I also noticed that the engine has the exact same displacement as the FXX EVO. I'm pretty sure those two engines have the same stroke and bore. The German tuner Edo competition has a stroker kit to convert a 599 GTB into a 630 GTB, using the same bore/stroke.
Wow!!! I missed this at Cavallino and I'm glad I did. That is one hideous, poorly executed marketing exercise. Ferrari is beginning to get lost in their own hype and needs to reevaluate what got them where they are today. Perhaps they should focus on continuing their design lineage instead of building ludicrous theme parks in the desert. Also, those 612 sketches are traditionally rendered (not digital) and are intended to set an early direction/theme. They aren't meant to be representative of an actual production product. There is always a degree of fantasy in early concepts but any decent design team should be able of translating that essence to final product.
I hope Pininfarina is hiring the best designers in the world, regardless of nationality. Ask napolis about the American designer of his P4/5. BTW, your 612 was designed by Japanese designer Okuyama: http://www.ferrarichat.com/forum/showpost.php?p=140233018&postcount=165
I'm a Ferrari fanboy as much as the rest of the people here, but there is no justifying this thing. I rarely see 612's on the street and I'm guessing within the next 5-7 years I'll never see one of these.
It's not a concept....they are making 40 of them or so for customers. Funny that when Bentely showed this car most people loved it now that Ferrari does a better interpretation of the shooting break (IMHO) there is an uproar.... I don't get it! Anyway looking forward to seeing in the flesh soon.
I was at Cavallino Palm Beach. There was a Ferrari dealer's meeting. The FF was shown to participants and quickly put back in the transporter. Apparently many dealers were able to take photos. The car was I believe Grigio Titanio. Badger your US dealer and post here ! I got there too late ! I gather views mixed, mostly negative. The issue for Ferrari is to significantly increase V12 sales and as with the California appeal to non Ferrari owners. Sadly the world is changing and many of us are holding fast to criteria which made Ferrari great in the past. For one I prefer Ferrari values of yesterday to tomorrow but give me a dual clutch transmission !
Im going to have to say I think the Sintesi is hideous. Looks like a next gen Prius. I can understand people not liking the FF as a Ferrari. Its not very 'Ferrari'. But I think, for what it is supposed to achieve ( 4 seats and room for luggage) its a pretty successful design.
Enzo must be spinning like a F1 engine knowing they are building these designs... Honestly, how hard is it to see it's butt ugly? A v-12 4wd casket hauler ?
