Yep! No flairs but I prefer it that way.

Unrestored interior. I really like the patina on the seats. Great time capsule.

BTW. I guarantee you the silver car is owned by a married man.

Yeah, his wife pulled off the vent window latch just like mine did!

This seems like a lovely car - do any of you folks have details or work-history on the car? I've been looking for a car for a while - one I can drive and enjoy. This one is on the upper-end of my price range - any comments about the asking price?

    Great looking car.

Do we all think original = higher price?

I just don't know if original is better. Certainly if you're a historian it is, but not for a car to drive and enjoy.

As a time capsule I'd say price is probably about on the money, but I'd never buy this car with the intention of putting a bunch of miles on it.

Wow this is a great chat forum. Thank you all for sending me the link to EM that has a silver car. A similar car sold for 150K a few onths ago from florida and when to CA but it had the front cross bar.
do you think the flares are not worth the money?

I'd pay more to NOT have flares, incongruous with the lovely Dino curves.

I am familiar with the particular silver Dino at Exclusive Motorcars, serial no. 08514, as it was in the Seattle area for awhile, and I looked at it several times at Ferrari of Seattle before it was sold (I don't think that the dinoregister has the owner history correct - I believe there were at least 4 owners prior to being currently for sale). If I am correct, it wasn't kept for very long before turning up for sale again at EM.

If it is in the same condition that it was when I saw it last, it appeared to be a very nice and complete car, but I don't think that it had headlight covers originally - I think they were added after Ferrari of Seattle sold it. I'll need to find my photos to check (actually, I think my wife was the one who took the photos).

In any event, and FWIW, my opinion is that under current market conditions, it may be overpriced by $20,000 or so. I say this after having sold my GTS this past summer, after having driven several other Dinos before buying my current GT, after seeing what the Dinos got at the Gooding & Co. auction in Scottsdale, AZ a week ago, and after having seen the results for Dinos sold at other recent auctions. On the other hand, if the original poster here is truly serious and has the money, get it inspected, drive it, and buy it!

That's an awesome-looking car, and I believe it has been sold. Personally, I would always opt for flares, but only if they are original and not added later.

Clearly, int he collector market, original is worth more, and so are options. It increases the rarity of the specimen, and assures that resto work has not been done improperly back when Dinos were considered more plebian.

The thing to wrestle with is whether to then do resto work to an original car! Aggh!

    God I love silver Dinos!!

ahhh...I love drifting over to the 'Dino world' and reading opinions and drooling over photos...

me personally, I have this thing for Dino's, Mangustas, 930's, and Countach's, all four autos - just nailed the 'cool' factor!

which leads me to my dream Dino.....gotta go with the 'coupe' for aesthetics reasons, even though I obviously see the awesomeness of the spider and open air motoring :)

remind me are the 206's shorter wheelbase? If I remember correctly, I like that :D
I am torn between the 206's knock-off's and those spectacular Campy's from the f&c cars...
definitely gotta go 'euro', with flush lenses and side marker treatment, and yes, the headlight (Carello's?) covers are a must...love the chairs from c&f and as far as flares....gotta go 'with' as includes the chairs and those exquisite wheels.

color? like all four amazing cars I mentioned, they pretty much look SPECTACULAR in any color! silver works :D

    Ahemmm.

I had a bad car experience with Ed that I don't want to print. Please contact me offline if you're interested. I would give the standard advice to verify everything about claims on this or any prospective car before purchasing.

    Scott,

Why not let us all know what your experience was?

Skewering the guy with your offhand remark does him a disservice and users here as well. Explaining what your issue was might help more than just one member in the future.

And no, I do not know Ed, never met him, or done any business with him but know his name and have not heard any negative comments about him in the past. OF course dig deep enough and you can find one guy who has had a bad experience with just about anyone, right?

    D
