what crack are you on?? err, i mean let me know and i can get you one (in your color of choice) for the low buy-in of $500k. double your money in 5 years!!
I dont know about 5-6 years but I can see it getting there. Enzos fetch crazy amounts. I didnt expect to see it that high that quick. If you bought an Enzo for the 660k or whatever the number was you would have in fact doubled your money in less than 7 years. Not 5, but close.
Never seen such consensus on a thread...and porsche over a ferrari. +1 CGT. My next car, if I can just get it past the mrs.
CGT hands down. Here are some pics from today. I was checking out a few cars at the auction and came across this poor CGT. Front end smashed, lights, bumper, carbon under body and the inner front tub (under hood) split in half. Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
I sold my F430 Spider for my CGT. I looked at the 16Ms at the same time. The CGT was engineering porn, while the 16M was too close to my 430. The CGT even turned out to be cheaper! 16M prices have since dropped, a lot, while the CGTs have edged up a little. I don't believe the CGT will ever fetch high prices like have been suggested, but I think they'll always be higher than the souped up 430. But, what do I know; I always buy my stocks high and sell low! ;-) Tim
Crappy pic, but you get the idea. CGT will definitely retain value better then 16M. However if you drive either of them.....and this goes for most of these cars.......they will all lose value. I like driving them. Image Unavailable, Please Login
I wasn't referring to the used market. I meant the sticker price. I think it was somewhere around 654k. I have seen a few online lately, 1 at 1.23M and the other at 1.325M.
while most of us here are simply dreaming, i'll chime in as well CGT hands down (basalt black for me, thanks). a true supercar built during a unique era for supercars.
i have never driven a CGT, but I know several people who have including a neighbor that owns one, and they do take a great deal of practice and skill to drive anywhere near 100%. The scuderia and even the new 458 have so many electronic controls that even a crappy driver like my self can look impressive driving one. Perhaps the CGT owners here can give there opinions on this....
The CGT has much higher maintenance costs than the 16M. For example, it eats clutches at a replacement cost of $25,000+. It is not unusual to see the first clutch fried before 5000 miles. Despite the higher upkeep costs, the CGT is a superior collectors car. Tim
That's not true. Annual fluid is around 1200. Driven properly, the clutch will last well over 100k miles.
A friend of mine replaced his clutch at 15k. He's a PCA driving instructor. He drives his cars hard, but certainly doesn't abuse them. Scott
Seems like every long drive I take in one of these things costs me $5k in depreciation. I'm looking forward to when they're worth nothing! ;-)
